The extension is a simple form available at the post office, but BE CAREFUL about filing this if there is any chance you will owe taxes. An extension to file is just that, it is not an extension to pay believe it or not. Seek professional advice. Don't go to Jason Hewitt tax service, they have been confiscating customers refunds in collusion with collection agencies. H&R Block is staffed by part time people with very little expertise, be careful of them too. Find a good local tax service that is at least owned by a CPA. If they are an EA (Enrolled Agent) more the better. My tax guy is both. -James Link to comment
