LiandLarry
If you want really cheap airfare from LAX to HKG, consider a courier flight with Jupiter Air (http://www.jupiterair.com/courier/courierflights.html) ... about $250-350 r/t, but the JAL flight used to arrive at HKG to late to clear Lo Wu customs ... you might have to sleep in the airport until morning.201689I took this courier flight once. You can only pick from departure dates Jupiter offers. Had to leave the Internatial area in Japan, clear customs, get escorted to baggage claim only to then learn there was nothing for me to courier. There's not much time between flights. And, yes, I spent the night on an airport terminal bench. No way I was paying HK Airport hotel rates. Worse, "they" will not give you the return 1/2 of the ticket until about 30 minutes before departure! Very nerve racking. Guess which seat they give you?201899 The wing? The throne?? Jonathan
Amy is getting on a plane tomorrow to Shanghai from LAX for $675 RT. Call Grand American Travel at 626 285 8953 They easily beat any price is could find on the net. Good luck!201867What airline is this with, and is it a direct flight? Sometimes it is very difficult to compare who really got the better deal because you have to take into account: 1. Some airlines tend to have a better reputation, and can charge a little bit more. Example: Singapore or Cathay Pacific, would cost a little more than United on the norm. Sometimes the difference can be as much as $100. 2. Direct flights where you do not have to stop in between cities would cost more than transit-flights, where they stop at two or more cities should cost less. You can only compare apples to apples... I usually go through an independent agent, and after comparing prices online first, of coarse. If I see a low price online, and the independent agent is willing to give me a similar or close enough price to that using Singapore Airlines, I know I've got a great deal. Sometimes, I find that even transit-flight with multiple stops end up costing more than my direct flight with Singapore airlines. That is because I called some Chinese travel agencies in the US. Sometimes, they can be rude on the phone, so I really do not like that. But they have given me great deals most of the times. Edited March 26, 2006 by Jonathan (see edit history) Link to comment

Unfortunatly the "faire" is coming to GUZ at the end of April and tickets are scarce it seems. I will do my best. I like China Southern. Link to comment
Jonathan
Is China Southern run by China? I'm totally afraid of flying on a Chinese Airline with their safety crash record and all. By the way, don't wait last minute for your tickets. If you can get a direct flight one way for around $860, grab it. That is what I am paying in April for Singapore airlines. I called alot of places, and probably annoyed alot of agents too by just calling in to compare prices. It wouldn't get much cheaper than that. And the longer you wait, the more you have to settle for anything they can throw your way. I learned that from my past experiences.
