Chinese - computer question

My wife brought a nice (and expensive) laptop with her when she arrived here in December, 2005, but her sister's daughter decided to "help" and protected access to the hard drive with a password.

 

When my wife got here she found the password her neice told her was not correct, and her neice couldn't remember the right one!

 

I leaned there was no way around this issue, so I formatted the hard drive (and, of course, overwrote the Chinese langauage version of Windows XP Professional) and installed an English version.

 

Works great, but my wife can't use the computer because she knows virtually no Englsih and it won't write in Chinese, of course.

 

My wife called her sister but she says Chinese authorities will not allow her to send a Chinese XP CD.

 

Wife is plenty upset, and lonely without her computer.

 

Any suggestions? Are Chinese language versions of Windows XP (or other late model operating systems) and a Chinese word processing program available in China? Could a friend who is coming here in a few weeks bring one with her?

You can buy one. I can't believe the Chinese Authority won't allow the CD to be sent here.
