newman
Our joint petition to remove conditions was sent to the NSC on December 9, 2005. A notice of receipt was received two weeks later. On February 3rd a notice of approval was received requesting we send in the conditional card. Yesterday we received the permanent resident card. God, thank you! We're glad it's over. Link to comment

JimXiao
Newman, Great news. Congrats to you. WOW! I think that that was fast. Kudos to NSC. We're a little behind you in the filing process. Filed at CSC on 12/27/05, w/NOA on 1/05/06. jimxiao Link to comment

cosmiclobster
Congrats Newman! Member #61 !! You're free from hassle for 10 years!!! It is kinda wierd that they would have you send in the old conditional card and leave you without any card until the new one arrived . . . .Luckily it was only a few weeks! Link to comment
newman
I believe the rule is you can keep the conditional card if you're going to do some immediate travel out of the country. Or, you can get your passport stamped with an extension of the condional card. I have a buddy whose wife kept the card because she didn't have time to get her passport stamped. The were a week behind us in sending the removal application in. Unfortunately his wife still hasn't received any further notices to send in her card. Now, they're trying to figure out what to do next. Link to comment
