Randy W
Target has 2 - one about $25 (metal rods and plastic ends) the other around $70 or $80 made of wood. We're also using a regular book shelf with narrow shelfs that I already had. Edited January 2, 2006 by Randy W (see edit history) Link to comment

mercator
Lowe's has nice big ones for like $30 They are the kind that are cloth and they start off flat and expand down to cover the door. They have the wood ones too but they were over $50. I was thinking of something like that myself, because my kids have too many shoes... Link to comment

"Well in America we wear our shoes into the bedroom and put them in the closet. In the summer we often go bare foot throughout the home, and sometimes even in the backyard. In the winter we might wear flip flops around the house or just keep our shoes on." "Yes, Lao Gong." Link to comment
LeeFisher3
Miwa makes a nice piece of furniture, they are not showing this on their web site now, but often they have things in stock that are not on their web site. Take a look at http://www.foamorder.com/product_benches.html and take a look at the Sunset Shoe Bureau. You can also check at your local Futon store and see if they can order one for you. I was thinking the same thing. I have wood floors throughout the house, so I figure on slippers becoming a requirement (though hoping just socks will suffice). I don't like shoes in the house as it is, so that part works. I've tried that technique Jim mentions, once, and she must have laughed for two minutes... Link to comment
pkfops
I picked up one for $20. Funny thing; only my shoes are outside. Link to comment

frank1538
I hear the Superdome is currently vacant. It MIGHT be big just enough to hold you wife's shoes if you buy something to store your shoes. Link to comment
