LiandLarry
What is the normal time to wait for a P3 after GUZ signed for file by "STAMP"? It was signed for 12 days after being sent DHL from NVC. Finally got lucky after over 1 year at NVC, this is a nice move in the right direction. Can't wait to "finally" make the TIMELINE. JoeAndJing
Hi Larry, Ours was signed for on 11/28/2005 and we haven't heard anything yet... Joe Link to comment
Randy W
Keep your fingers crossed - at least GUZ is admitting it's in their hands. Link to comment
philb
Li & Larry: Mine was sent 11/2/05 and signed STAMP on 12/19...that's like 6 weeks...but hey, I beat you - I was only at the NVC for 9 months and yes, I also contacted Maura Harty and the roadblock evaporated...go figure! Maybe we will join you for interviews! Phil & Yun Link to comment
IluvmyLi
I emailed GUZ asking if they receive our paper copy of file yet. This is there response. "Dear Sir, Thank you for your email. We've not yet recieved this case. After NVCnotifies an applicant that they have shipped the petition to the Consulate, typically it takes 60 to 120 days for file/petition to be received andprocessed by post. This time period includes the time required to clearChina's customs, security screening of the boxes when they are received by post, and then sorting and processing time for the Immigrant Visa Unit." They also told me I need to use the pay service by phone for questions. Link to comment

The next batch went out on the 25th and it was signed for by STAMP on 12/15. It also says "in transit". Can you call DHL and ask about shipment #7926445881?? Larry Link to comment
IluvmyLi
I called DHL and asked why it showed delivered and then in transit again. He told me that it's an error and Shipments from HK were using the same tracking number as the shipment I was tracking. He said they have had numerous errors such as this. It was delivered and to ignore the in transit part of it. Edited December 22, 2005 by IluvmyLi (see edit history) Link to comment
JoeAndJing
IluvmyLi, Do not bother calling the 54 RMB phone system, they will just tell you the same thing (wait 60 to 120 days). What's more, in my (and several other members') experience, the information given to you by the agents at the phone system is out of date. In my case, yesterday we called and they said they had no record of our case. But then we got an EMS just this morning from Guangzhou with our P3! So obviously they had a record of our case, as they had already mailed out the P3. But the lady on the phone was not aware of that. I believe that there is a significant delay between the time things actually get done and the time the computers reflect what has been done. Joe Link to comment
IluvmyLi
Joe,Yesterday you called DOS? or GUZ? Also I remember GUZ Speaks said that for K1's, the name check process begins before they receive the paper copy. Maybe that's why some people receive P-3 before the computer shows anything. JoeAndJing
Yesterday I called GUZ (the phone service that costs 54 RMB for 12 minutes) and they said they have no record of our case and nothing had been entered into the computer. Less than 24 hours later, the P3 was in our hands. (I am living with my fiancee in China now) This shows that the people staffing the telephone system do not have the most up to date information.
