What's the difference...

K visas are required to do the I-134 form prior to visa interview. I-864 is used for Adjustment of Status in USACR-1 and IR-1 are required to do I-864 prior to visa interview.

The I-134 is an immigration visa application for family members to come to the US (spouse, child, brother, mother, etc.)

The I-864 is a financial, legally binding paper that says when you bring a person in on a visa, you agree that they will not need government support (welfare) while they are in this country.

Nu uh. The I-134 is a financial document stating that you can and will support the benificiary of your visa petition--much like the I-864 except that it is used by GZ for K1 and K3 visas.

It is the I-130 that is used o pettition for a visa for an alien relative.

The I-134 is not considered a binding document and supposedly there has never been anyone held financially accountable based on it.

The I-864 is a binding document that does not go away until the beneficiary has 40 quarters of work according the the SSA. Count it as 10 years of full-time employment before it goes away.
