Case Forwarded to Guangzhou but No Entry?

Recommended Posts

If you're not aware of this, there are days (once a week?) at the consulate where a visa officer is on hand to answer questions - recently even to talk about specific cases.

Yes I realize this. However, I don't think it will help for 2 reasons:

1) the case is still not in the system yet, and

2) I am in the United States.

I just sent a long email to the guangzhouacs@state.gov address hoping that someone in the ACS division can help two days ago but I got no response yet. Give it one more day and I will probably call them up instead.

taishancom,

BREAKING NEWS! I just checked DHL, and all those packages, sent July 18th. Have been delivered to GZ!! YES. ALL of them. No joke

I don't understand how you found that out. When I went on the DHL.com website and did track by reference on I-730 for July 18, no records came up. Did you call them to get this information?

congratulations !!

And yes, once your case is recognized at GUZ, you should see if any expediting can occur.. particularly if you state your departure cannot occur after the interview since she is too far along, but if expedited she could leave...  but with the delay, you might miss this chance too...

Thank you for your words of encouragement. My wife is almost 7 months pregnant now and we are still waiting word from Guangzhou. I guess "Mark" was fortunate enough to have the consulate expedite his process.

On another note, we actually hired an "immigration specialist" from China back in August to help us contact the consulate for expediting our case because of the pregnancy. Those specialists had agreed to take on our case for a fee of $1500 USD if my wife can get her visa by the middle of November. They would not take our fee if we don't get the visa by then. I had originally thought that they would have some kind of "inside connection" that might help. Obviously, they don't and it seems like they were just rolling the dice as we had nowhere to turn to. I was kind of depending on them since they would make a good profit with the $1500 in Chinese dollars. However, it shows that they are not capable as well. I guess if I had used the time to speak to the officer at the ACS, that might help better.

I forgot this was in the FAQ as well  ... not sure if that last comment is from Mark's post or not.. sorry to repeat if it is...

Q.1.25 If my wife is pregnant, will her application be expedited?

A.1.25.1

Consulate Guangzhou webpage:

Due to the large number of cases backlogged we cannot expedite based on the pregnancy of the applicant, but will schedule to avoid travel around the time of birth. We have not heard of any problems arising from possible violation of China's one child policy from previous pending immigrants.

A.1.25.2

In the past, GUZ did speed up the process for someone who became pregnant before P4. Unfortunately, they no longer offer this service. So this option has been closed. I think they suspected too may couples getting pregnant just to expedite their case.

A.1.25.3

According to a response to my Senator from GZ...the only expeditable thing for GZ is pregnancy. But, my SO has read one or two posts on 001 where the pregnancy was not allowed to expedite. So, who knows. Does not hurt to at least try it.

A.1.25.4

She sent the ultra-sound pic and letter that confirms her pregnancy and gives a due date (May 14, 2005). I wrote a letter to USCIS requesting her case be expedited and sent that off yesterday, along with the doctor's letter, certified translation, and a copy of the NOA. I'll be sending a letter to my congressman tomorrow.

FYI, if anyone finds themselves in a similar situation, I was told to direct my request to a service center in Lee's Summit, Missouri (Lees Summit is Missouri Service Center or National Benefits Center) with attention to "Expedite Request". I don't think this is the address one would send the I-129F. I'd post that address, but I think you should call the USCIS and get the correct address for your area.

Two days ago I sent an e-mail to GZ to ask about XXXs paperwork and if they planned to expedite her case. I got a reply about 30 minutes ago.

Her appointment is March 4, 2005!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our cut-off date for when it would be too late for her to travel was March 15, 2005.

The United States should follow Hong Kong by example and allow itself to prosper.

It was Canada that had a much wider open door policy to HongKong immigrants some 20 years ago and Canada is reaping the rewards today. Vancouver is prospering quite well from the HK immigrants. US has and is still very paranoid, a bit less the Brits. Methink it's the inner bigotry against the Asians. Canada had no choice but did whatever it can to stimulate its economy. Most people think of the French as the haut snotties, but US is in the same boat.

I don't understand why some packages to Guangzhou say "At Gateway", others say"Arrived at DHL facility", others say "Shipment delivered" and others say "On hand".

I understand the general idea of what these shipping tags mean, but they are not necessarily date sequential.

It is almost like the embassy is requesting which ones they want delivered to them on a given date. The most recent delivery by shipment date was 10/20/05. But I saw others dated back as far as 09/26/05 that were still listed as "At Gateway".

Maybe "At Gateway" means they are being held in customs? Maybe the Chinese government is picking which ones they want to scrutinize or photo copy?

Then I also see that the delivery signature is the same for Beijing and Guangzhou "signed by STAMP" I haven't a clue what this means? Maybe it is literal... maybe stamped by security or a receptionist?

I hope my wife's not in the slow line...

Does anyone have anything other than speculation?
