pkfops
My fiancee forgot to bring extra copies of her birth certificate and herID card. Does anyone know if she can get a SSN with only her passport? thankspkf Link to comment
cosmiclobster
I think that would depend on the state you live in and the clerk du jour. Link to comment
warpedbored
We didn't take the birth certificate. We just took her passport with visa and I-94 inside along with some mail that had been delivered in her name and a certified copy of our marriage licence. Link to comment
david_dawei
We brought her Passport and birth certificate... The instructions say two forms of ID: SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATIONApplication for a Social Security Cardhttp://www.ssa.gov/online/ss-5.pdf I would call them to see if they can recommend something acceptable... or you might need to have it shipped over... Is it possible to have someone in the US create a 'proof of birth' based on her passport ? Seems farfetched, but just thinking... Link to comment
BuffaloPaul
We took passport, marriage cert and birth certificate, but the clerk didn't want the birth certificate. Link to comment
tonado
Did she apply for the EAD card? My wife used that as ID also. Link to comment
pkfops
Thanks for the replies; it looks like her sisters will take care of thingsand get that stuff off in the mail. I started to look over the AOS package today and it seems another copy of her birth certificate will be needed. Time for round two; back to work again. Link to comment
