notrevorich
I met an Old friend tonight and His new Chinese Wife came to the USA about 10 years ago.Her First Name is Lisa and she also has a middle name . I asked Lisa what her true Name was and She informed me that when she became a US Citizen she had her Chinese Name Americanized . I still do not know what her Chinese name was and I guess I never will . She told me that she changed her name because she found it very difficult to get a job and because many people would misprounce her name .I think that might be true if you were the only Chinese woman in a small town in Missouri 10 years ago , but aren't things a lot different now ? tywy_99
That would be a good idea for my wife. Nobody can pronounce her first name and it is funny to hear them try. Link to comment
