tywy_99
Your wife must have citizenship if your talking about a US passport. If a China passport, check out the Chinese embassy or consulate websites for information. http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7646 Edited September 24, 2005 by tywy_99 (see edit history) Link to comment
skibum
I would think that you have passports now if you traveled to China and she came here. Link to comment

The principal requirements are 3 years of legal permanent residence if married to the same US citizen, speaking English, and passing the test. Jim - Portland, USA
Keep in mind also ... it's not just a matter of "getting a US passport". Legally speaking, and according to Chinese laws and US laws, her getting a US passport (i.e. becoming a US citizen) also means she can no longer be a Chinese citizen and therefore have no Chinese passport. She may not want to give up her Chinese citizenship. Yeah, traveling on a US passport is pretty easy, but there are other things to think about too - such as owning Chinese property and other *possible* benefits of retaining Chinese citizenship.
