jim_julian
I ran into a new one when I questioned putting the water filtration cooler in the living room right by the front door ... this is in a Chinese apartment. I was told that "in China a guest must see water when they enter your home". Anyone else heard of this? Edited September 7, 2005 by jim_julian (see edit history) Link to comment

xulei601
ok, but seriously, i think its all about feng shui. ideally a house is situated with a body of water (esp. river) in front of it and a mountain behind. maybe in an urban environment a water cooler in the living room might be the next best thing. on the other hand, my SO is into fengshui and just rolled her eyes when I ran that by her, so I could just be talking out of my ass. but, she didn't have any alternate explanation. Cold water is a foreign concept. My wife puts milk and orange juice in the microwave. Cold water is out of the question!!!!!!! Link to comment
Yuanyang
What little I've read re:water is that any running water should be slow moving, not fast. Rapidly running water carrys away Chi.. Link to comment
Guest ShaQuaNew
Situating the water dispenser and beer cooler next to the front door would be a good idea. The water can be at room temperature and the beer ice cold.... Link to comment
jim_julian
Ahhh HA! It is feng shui ... I had always been pronouncing it wrong and lao po said no ... it's not that. Now her daughter read the post a few above and pronounced it correctly ... ahhh feng shui ... of course. Link to comment

tonado
A house next to a river is bad feng shui. Look at New Orleans. Flooding is not good. Link to comment
