BuffaloPaul
All my reading of Taoism and Budhism led me to believe that patience is a great virtue. Yet it has been pointed out to me on several occasions that it is seen by a certain someone that it signifies a lack of caring. Has anyone else experienced this with Chinese women or is this a personal trait? Link to comment
dustyone
I think it go's like that for a lot of them. Mine is that way also. Link to comment

LeeFisher3
We both have demonstrated patience and impatience and the other is always there to support the other. Then there are the days when we are both impatient and support each other in talking about Guangzhou being bad. Link to comment
frank1538
To Jingwen, patience is waiting 30 seconds after she yells "chi fan". In all honesty though, Jingwen does have the patience of Job on some things, but not others. Link to comment
tonado
When my wife asks me to do something (like helping her with homework, booking a doctor's apt), she wants it done on the fly. Edited August 5, 2005 by ttlee_99 (see edit history) Link to comment
david_dawei
I think this is a great example of seemingly contradiction... resolved as easily as well... My observation is that chinese operate by intuition and action mostly. If action is expected, then there is less patience. ANd this would include emotional action. When acceptance is expected, then there is patience. Taoist and Buddhist teach 'settling' the mind and heart in order to overcome the 'reactionary' responses. Then a new kind of response takes over.. one that without a reactionary effect, without effort and without thinking. Link to comment
