I think this is a great example of seemingly contradiction... resolved as easily as well...

 

My observation is that chinese operate by intuition and action mostly.

 

If action is expected, then there is less patience. ANd this would include emotional action.

 

When acceptance is expected, then there is patience.

 

Taoist and Buddhist teach 'settling' the mind and heart in order to overcome the 'reactionary' responses. Then a new kind of response takes over.. one that without a reactionary effect, without effort and without thinking.
