eeyore
It has been 4 months now and the name check is still not done. How long should it take? Has anyone contacted the F.B.I. and received a responce or results? I don't think our case has fallen into a black hole but I think I can see the event horizon. I'm getting a little concerned, seems to me that the name check should be done by now. Any insight into the name check would be welcomed. Thanks. Link to comment

frank1538
Take a look at this: http://www.immigrationportal.com/attachmen...tachmentid=8181 as supplemented by http://www.immigrationportal.com/attachmen...achmentid=10678 It's a pretty good write-up on the process and provides some contact numbers. Good luck. Link to comment
mari
Thomas, the name check is requested and coordinated by DOS and FBI is only one of the agencies where the name is sent for clearance. Our name check took 9 months and we never knew the reason for its delay. It got resolved by a woman at DOS after my congressman's aide contacted her. I did wrote to the FBI at the end of Noevember 2004, and I finally got a response from them around the time the case was being resolved (5 months later). Link to comment

Zingaro
Eeyore, don't push the panic button yet. While some P3 - P4 timelines are shorter than four months (most of this bit is the second name check and shipping of documents back and forth) four months is not excessive. Have you telephoned DOS? GZ? Link to comment
