The Jeff
Ok, this is about the P3 packet for the K3. We got it twice. The first was just a cover letter, a single sheet of paper with no additional documents. We wrote the GZ website, got no reply, but about 10 days later we got another K3 with all the right materials included. The first one was dated March 5th, the second was March 14th, and we sent it out right away. At the bottom of both cover letters though was a Priority date of June 16th 2004. Exactly what is a Priority date? What does it mean? Anybody know? Link to comment

Mengxin
Priority date doesn't mean much to us. They are supposed to determine your place in the waiting line for your visa app. Use the priority date to determine how much longer you need to wait. See here...http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin...letin_1343.html VISA BULLETIN IMMIGRANT NUMBERS FOR DECEMBER 2004 A. STATUTORY NUMBERS 1. This bulletin summarizes the availability of immigrant numbers during December . Consular officers are required to report to the Department of State documentarily qualified applicants for numerically limited visas; the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services in the Department of Homeland Security reports applicants for adjustment of status. Allocations were made, to the extent possible under the numerical limitations, for the demand received by November 8th in the chronological order of the reported priority dates. If the demand could not be satisfied within the statutory or regulatory limits, the category or foreign state in which demand was excessive was deemed oversubscribed. The cut-off date for an oversubscribed category is the priority date of the first applicant who could not be reached within the numerical limits. Only applicants who have a priority date earlier than the cut-off date may be allotted a number. Immediately that it becomes necessary during the monthly allocation process to retrogress a cut-off date, supplemental requests for numbers will be honored only if the priority date falls within the new cut-off date. By definition: http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/glossary...ary_1363.html#pPriority Date: The priority date decides a person's turn to apply for an immigrant visa. In family immigration the priority date is the date when the petition was filed at a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) office or submitted to an Embassy or Consulate abroad. In employment immigration the priority date may be the date the labor certification application was received by the Department of Labor (DOL). In the Diversity Program the turn for immigration is decided by the applicant’s position in a random draw. Link to comment

The forms are the same just that the K/3 gets them all in P-3. When you get your P-3 imediatly fill out and send back OF-169 and the DS-230 part one, that will get you in the queue for an interveiw. frank1538
Priority dates are virtually meaningless in the context of a K-3: http://candleforlove.com/forums/index....67af2b3d192ef34 http://candleforlove.com/forums/index....67af2b3d192ef34 http://candleforlove.com/forums/index....67af2b3d192ef34 Link to comment
nooneufo
The priority date on our P3 letter, was the date of the arrival of my initial I-129f as shown on our NOA-1. I assumed it was just another way to keep things sorted. Not a priority at all, except in the sense of doublespeak. Link to comment
