Guest blsqueaky
Just got off the phone with DHL, since according to NVC, mine was sent to GZ on 5/19 On 5/19 4 packages sent, 2 cleared On 5/20 7 sent, 4 cleared On 5/23 6 sent, 0 cleared On 5/24, 6 sent, 0 cleared On 5/25, 5 sent, 0 cleared. I know, I am hoping that I am in the 2, and also anyone else that might have had theirs sent on 5/19 or 5/20. Now I just need to remember how to check on whether it has been entered into the Computer. If I remember, I can call NVC, and they can tell me, or is it DOS. Been so long Link to comment
ed and ying
In your discussion with DHL, were all of the packages sent from NVC, or were some sent from other locations ? The DHL folks have several ways to look at packages sent/recieved. NVC told me that my file was sent on May 9. At first DHL told that many packages went to GUZ that day, aftersome discussion, it was determinbed that only one of those packages was from NVC. Ths is where I got the theory that the K files were sent with the I-730 reference. It is only theory, but everyday NVC makes a shipment to GUZ with I-730 reference. Some are less than 4 lbs miss clearance delay others are about 6 lbs or 2 boxes at about 12 lbs total. All the heavy stuff is delayed. It seems to take 3 to 6 weeks to clear. There are 8 or so shipments with I-730 reference waiting to clear from May I will get a update and post it Link to comment
Guest blsqueaky
These were all sent from NVC, zip code 03801 right to GZ. When you call DHL, you just have to give them zip codes, and the date. All that they can tell you, this many sent, this many cleared. Ed, look forward to seeing your update Link to comment
ed and ying
Are you sure all the packages that DHL told you about were from NVC to AMCON ? If you go just by zipcode, you can catch more than wah is sent from NVC. It looks like they have to query each shipment to find the to/from. If all the packages you reference were really from NVC to GUZ my I-730 theory is shot to heck. Before I thought I had a theory, I treid looking for packages by other references " K-1, K1, K3, K-3, I-129, I-12pf:, etc. No hits except with I-730, which is a general family based visa reference. olemanoman1950
The packages usually get to vacation in customs clearance delay for 20-30 some odd days. When I went through the process DHL gave me actual Tracking numbers for the packages that were shipped that day. Most packages are shipped on Friday afternoon. They consist of Correspondence for the embassy and I-730's. The actual petitions are accepted last after about a 30 day clearance delay. My CR1&2 left NVC Sept. 30 2004 and cleared customs and delivered to Guangzhou Nov 2. We received the P-4 end of January with Interview March 8, so hang in there. Link to comment
yuehan123
Agree the process takes about 30 days. I never did call DHL about this. NVC said pkg mailed Jan 08; DOS said Guz received pkg 02 -18. Link to comment

ed and ying
May packages with I-730 reference not delivered to embassy, "On hand or Arrived at facility appears to be same as clearance delay" They are all heavy packages, some are two boxes. And to think I thought Nebraska was bad. I think we need a 6 Sigma project to investigate why we ship a package over in 3 days to sit for 3 weeks or more. mlspyl
Mark: My wife's CR1 application left the NVC on 04/01/05 and the Consulate still does not acknowledge receipt as of today (06/01/05). I called the DOS and the visa specialist checked the computer and comfirmed that the Consulate has not entered my wife's CR1 into their computer. I am at a loss, I know other CFL members (using the CR1 route) spouse's applications have reached the Consulate even though they were forwarded by the NVC after my wife's case. I am worried now !!! I know many talk about the DHL tracking, but I am not sure how this helps ??? If you call the DOS they have the latest information in the computer. I assume the mail will finally reach the Consulate. The DOS has the information in their computer about the latest e-mail inquiry I sent to the Consulate. The reply from GZ: The consulate told me they have not received my wife's case yet - seven weeks after being sent !!! The Consulate entered this into the computer and the DOS has this information. ed and ying
Mark My interest in DHL is to get some idea of when to bug DOS and GUZ. If the package is at DHL, taling to Dos/GUZ is pointless. I guesait does not hurt to check with DOS, because the ship date NVC gives us maynot be accurate. We could be looking at "misleading" info from DHL, because the NVC date is not correct. Looking back at my old stuff, a I-730 shipment on 4/1, was delivered to GUZ on 5/13 Link to comment

mlspyl
Ed: Thanks for the information !!! I based my contacting GZ by e-mail and DOS by phone on past CFL posts. The consensus I found on CFL was 4 - 6 weeks after being forwarded by NVC, the case would be in the computer at GZ. So I waited seven weeks and contacted both the DOS and GZ. I guess we are on the far side of the time period . However, you gave me hope with your information on the 04/01/05 shipment !!!! ThanksMark Link to comment
ed and ying
Doug, Mark Everything I have found agrees that it may be 4-6 weeks before GUZ gets the shipment from NVC. How long it take the to enter into into computer - I do not know. The 4/12 shipment was delivered on 5/17. Hopefully you will hear something soon. I hope I get to the embassy soon ! Link to comment
Dan R
After our NVC approval notice I received no further word until a call to DOS produced a GUZ number two months later. A month after that we received the P-3. Throughout that time period there was no information available on the computer. I had called and emailed but nothing, then suddenly the P-3. Later when I would call DOS the only information they found were notes of my calls and emails. I would suggest calling and emailing twice a month for both on alternating weeks. It can't hurt to generate a record of interest. Besides that if nothing is out of the ordinary you can expect it to be following the normal timeline. Link to comment
Guest blsqueaky
Sometimes you can never understand whatr is going on. If you look at my time time line, for our K-3, you will see that it was shipped over Xmas, and received a few days later. It is hard to say what batch was cleared and what was held. We have a GUZ number, had for awhile now. The P-3 we got from NVC, not GUZ. Doug, I have not a clue what is going on with yours. I have an good idea, but not really sure if it is right. You and I have talked about it. Ed, as far as calling DOS, they will know when it is entered. Frtom what I understand, emailing GUZ, they can only tell you what they want, but DOS can tell you that they have received and entered into puter, then when you email GUZ, you have more info Link to comment
