Now that Fanny should have her CR1 visa in the next 2-3 days, can someone give me an idea of things I should do as far as paperwork for her once she gets here.

 

I'm in California, if it makes a diff.

Is it important where you live that she drive? Remember in California you can't get a driver's license until you have your social security number and are registered in the computer link between CIS and DMV you can't get a license. If she has a Chinese Driver's license she can drive here as long as she carries a translation of the license with it.

 

This is the only thing I know different in California. Anyone listed as a beneficiary of someone on SS qualifies for need to have an SS number irregardless of citizenship or residency.

Thanks. It worked out really well. Mark Pmed me when I ask if there was any others who would be in GZ this week. His situation is the same as mine. He's waiting here while his SO goes to GZ. Both his SO and mine are in GZ with their moms. So the moms can keep each other company when the SOs are/were busy.

Can you give me an idea of your GUZ timeline as I am just getting ready to send in the DS230 IV to NVC and assume Our CR-1 case will be sent to GZ around mid June.
