  1. Has anyone applied for and received a Q2 visa without needing an invitation letter from someone in China (i.e. your marriage certificate was sufficient even though your spouse has a Green Card). Experience with the Consulate in San Francisco is preferred since that's the jurisdiction I live in but any experience is helpful. Thanks in advance.
  2. Well it's time to renew my visa to China. I always use Oasis China Visa for my visa's Though there web site has changed and now you can fill out the Q1 form (Visa application form) online. (You can also download the PDF version of the Q1 if you like) Most of the instructions are straight forward but there is one requirement that has me puzzled. For me this is not a problem for as we all know my wife is here in the states for 8 years now. (Note highlight in red above) The problem i see is for my friend ( His wife is still in China) and getting a notarized copy of her passport would be almost impossible seeing she has it in China. The copy of his marriage certificate is no problem. Any ideas how to overcome this issue?
  3. My wife is a Chinese citizen and I am an America. When I retire, we are thinking of moving to China or live part time. I have read that it is very hard to get a long term visa. My current tourist visa allows stays of 60 days. What if I want to stay longer? Is it possible just to go to Hong Kong and then have another 60 days? If so, can I keep doing this? Thanks for all your help.
  4. Sorry...stupid question but on the Chinese visa application for myself it asks where the passport was issued. Would this just be USA or does it have to be specifric? Also it asks who the inviter is in China. Since my wife lives here most of the time but travels back to China for a few months each year, and has a residence there I assume it still can't be her? If so her parents? Sorry. Thanks! Marc
