  1. Yuan and I just filed for her AOS, They have received her packet and cashed the check. Today I was offered a HUGE opportunity at work, free housing with a very large salary, the only problem is that the first 6 months of this job are in India. I do not think there is any chance for her greencard to arrive before that time. She might get her AP before the job starts. Any suggestions other than to have her wait in the states until the 2 year Conditional greencard arrives? Thanks in advance for your advice.
  2. Hi All, Its been a crazy and hectic last 2 weeks. But all worth it!!! I flew to HKG to get my love, spent a week in the Rockies (UT) and got married :)Now the next steps and I have a few questions..... 1)Is there a link on here on what exactly is needed for AOS? Do we need the actual marriage license for this? I only have the marriage certificate thus far. Maybe another 2 weeks before we get the marriage license in the mail. 2)When can I get her a SS Card/SS number? What is needed? 3)I assume we cant do her name change yet. We need the marriage license first, correct? 4)We are planning to go back to China the end of March for a Chinese wedding.I dont think we will have her green card by this time. What is needed for Lili to leave the States for the China wedding and get back into the states after? 5)Finally, we currently live in Texas. However, we are moving to Utah in March. How will this effect AOS (any)? Thanks, Matt and Lili
  3. Hey Everyone, Hope all is going well with all of you. Quickly. My wife's daughter has been in and out of the hospital in Chengdu for the past week. Rosie wants to go back to be with her. As I understand it the I-131 is the only way for her to go back under Advanced Parole. And suggests that the fee is waived because she has a I-485 in process.(our attorney says it would cost "a couple hundred bucks") How long does it take to get approval for the I-131? I read that she can leave before the approval? But if not approved I'm assuming all sorts of bad things would happen. How long can she stay over there? Any other info would be appreciated. Thanks so much. Marc
  4. Hello everyone! My wife and I will be leaving to Hangzhou to work there for the next 5 years or so and I had some questions about moving there. I will be leaving in July and my wife will follow a few months later after she gets her 10 year green card. I am also applying for an I-131 for 2 years so she will be okay to re-enter in the future. Oh, and one more thing we are moving to the West Lake district in Hangzhou. 1. Can I live comfortably with an annual salary of at least 200,000 RMB before taxes? And will I have to pay taxes while I'm in China? 2. Is it really that hard to live there with rent/AC/utility bills? I am pretty sure the money I make should be enough but my wife told me that living in Hangzhou isnt cheap. She asked her friends on 001 and they told her it can cost over 7,000 RMB a month there. 3. I will be bringing my xbox with me to china, should I take it as a carry on or place it in my suitcase? Also my wife wants to ship our desktop to china too so im not sure if thats okay...i know the shipping costs is gonna suck...also i know i need adapters i am bringing them too.. Thanks in advance for your advice/comments. Bill and Wen
