  6. David, I understand everything you are saying about sending money to your SO, however I feel that a man should take care of his family if he is married to his SO. I was married to my wife on Dec. 18, 2003 and every since that day, I have sent her money each month at the same time for her to have for living expenses. My wife did quit her job when she married me because I asked her to do so, because she was only making about 100 dollars a month and most of that amount was used to pay for sending me emalis at that time. I eventually sent her enough money to purchase a computer and a web cam which is what we use now and when she had her interview on 6/13/05, she passed without any questions being asked about the money i sent to her. She is flying to JFK next month on the 14th and i will meet her at the airport after waiting almost 19 months since being with her. I guess it is a matter of personal opinion whether one would want to support their SO or not during the visa process. I do not feel the VO would care one way or the other as long as you can prove that your relationship is true. Melvin
  7. Congratulations to you and yours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! May you continue to be happy always and forever. 8. Hi Cfl Family, As promised I said that I would post the questions my wife was asked on her interview on 6/13/05. She said her VO was a young white man who spoke perfect chinese language and he asked all the questions to her in chinese, because my wife's english is very weak to almost none. She was called to the window at 1:00pm and she was asked 8 questions and they were: 1. who helped you with your application? 2. when did you meet? 3. when did you get married? 4. what is your husband's name? 5. where does he work? 6. do you have his tax papers? 7. how old is he? 8. do you have pictures? that was it and he said to her to to pick up her visa in 2 days which she did on 6/15/05. Again thanks to all of you for your support and advice and I do hope and pray that any of you that worry if you have only been to China only one time, I am proof without a doubt that you do not need to make several trips to China to be approved, because I only went one time to see my wife, but I stayed a month while I was there which may have made a difference. Also you do not need as much material as many may think however it is wise to take as much as you can just in case it is asked for. Many hopes and prayers for the rest of you waiting for your golden moment to be with your S O forever. Melvin
  9. Hi CFL family, I am happy to report that my wife had her interview today 6/13/05, and I received an email from her sister stating that she had passed her interview. I was very happy to hear the news because i was up all night waiting for the morning to come so that i could find out if she has passed. Better still, when i got to work this morning my contact at the DOS called me personally and told me that my wife had passed her interview. I guess my Governor's office had monitored her case since i had so much trouble with GZ processing my wife's papers in a timely manner, however i am thanking God first for my prayers being answered and then thanking all of you who have helped me along the way to get through all this. I want to say to Gene and Terrence that it is such a very good feeling to finally have a hurdle behind me and now to look forward to the ones i will face when my wife lands at JFK within the next few days. I will post the questions she was asked when i talk to her this later week. Again thanks to all of you, and may the rest of you waiting be blessed also. Melvin
  10. Hi Michael, I think it is a great idea, and you and I do not love that far apart. I live in eastern nc at the US marine base at camp lejuine in havelock nc. My children live in Va, Beach Va. where I lived for 13 years until the Base closing in Norfolk Va. in 1995. I know exactly where Smithfield Va. is, because I traveled through there when I was married to my first wife who is from Halifax, NC. My wife is from Nanning and I was married in Nanning in December of 2003. She is having her Visa interview 6/13/05. I am on pins and needles waiting for her to get it all over with and hopefully she will be here on 6/20/05 at the JFK airport where I plan to meet her there and then drive back to NC. My friend Gene from this site and his wife has been a great help to me and my wife getting through all the processes, therefore I know what you mean when you say we all have depended on someone from CFL for help. Take care, Melvin
  11. Thanks to all of you for your expressions of joy for me and lianying. I want to thank you Terrence and Gene especially for a more personal assistance that you two have given to me over this long wait. My wife is planning to fly to New York's JFK on 6/19/05 and i am going to drive from NC to NY to pick her up and she will be able to see many sights as we drive from NY to NC. Again thanks to all of you. melvin and lianying ----------------------------- Timeline: met on line ---------------------------- 02/2003 went to nanning on ------------------ 12/15/2003 married in nanning -------------------- 12/18/2003 filed I130---------------------------------01/20/2004 filed I-129F-------------------------------02/24/2004 received noa 1---------------------------03/04/2004 received noa 2 for I-129F -------------10/10/2004 sent to GZ-------------------------------- 10/15/2004 P3 received by my wife-----------------12/18/2004 wife returned P3-------------------------01/05/2005 P4 received by my wife-----------------04/30/2005 interview date---------------------------06/13/2005 Flight to America________________06/19/2005
  12. Hi Guys, It has been a very long and lonesome wait for me and my wife to finally get the good news that her interview date is 6/13/05. We both are very happy and when she told me of the news yesterday I gave way to tears of joy and could not say anything for a while to her her talking on our web cams to each other as we do each day. I want to thank each of you for your very informative information which I read daily and even though I do not post many messages to candle, I do support all the efforts and considerations that all of you give to assist each member of candle. Melvin and Lianying
  13. nooneufo, I originally gave you my date of 1/5/05 for my wife returning her P3 to GZ, but she told me that GZ had sent her informaton that she had make an error on filling out one of the forms, and she corrected it and sent it back to GZ on 2/15/05, therefore I am sure her informaton is in the GZ database by 1/20/ 05 at least, and you can just use that date as our P3 to P4 return date. Thanks for doing such a fine job with the projected timelines. Melvin

  15. We do not know what each day will bring, because tomorrow is not promised to us, but when there is sorrow in our lives, God finds a way to replace it with happiness. Congratulations on your interview and our deepest sympathy go out to you and your family for the loss of your mother. Melvin and Lianying
  16. Hi John, Congratulations on your interview date, I noticed your timeline and you only had to wait for about 6 months to reveive your interview, that is very very quick. I sent my I-129F papers for my wife to Chicago and received my 1 NOA march 4, 2004 and did not get the 2nd NOA until 10/9/2004 and my wife has just received her P3 package last week, so therefore I guess it is not a true statement to say that everyones timeline will be about the same to wait on certain steps in the process, because your timeline just blew all that in the water. Anyway again good luck on your interview and I hope your and yours have a very happy life together. Melvin
  17. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love in certainly in the air. Melvin
  18. Congrats Marty, I hope you and yours have a blessed life and all go well with you forever. Melvin
  19. Thanks Alberto for the informaton, because my wife does live in the city of Nanning and she really does need a lot of help speaking English. Does this guy have a telephone number you can share with us for my wife to call and speak with him? If so send it to my email address. Thank you , Melvin
  20. Ken, That is great news for all of us that are in the same boat with wives that cannot speak English yet, I will pass this on to my wife and maybe we will have the same luck. Congrats and the best to you and yours. Melvin
  21. Hi all, I finally received word online that my I-130 has been approved as of 1/10/05. I am really happy to know that there will be one less hurdle to cross now that it is approved, I am not sure what to do next, because my I-129F is being processed in GZ now and i know some of you have been in this same situation, therefore any suggestions? Melvin
  22. Hi all, My wife was really upset at me when she was trying to tell me that she needed all the information on my familiy. She told me that the information is asked for on the Family Composite Sheet that is included in your P3 package. She said the form ask for the name, address, birth, death, of all my siblings and my parents, to include any step, foster, adopted, half and ect. siblings too. I have never read on candle where this was something that you all had to fill out or even heard of the form, so does anyone know of this to be true, and this information has to be given to the consulate before a visa can be issued? Thanks for your help on this subject. Melvin
  23. Hi all, I do not know if my wife will ever get here, because she is killing me with the notion that she has to pay 2925 and 400 us dollars for her visa. Help!!!! Melvin
  24. Hi all, It is questions 15, 16 17, and 18 on the DS230 form that my wife thinks that they are asking for my mother and father information, and i told her that the requested information is for her parents not mine. Did i tell her the right answer? Melvin
