  1. Congratulations, Jim & Cherry!!! Yes, when I went for my interview in April, I heard the blonde lady was pretty tough too. So, GOOD JOB!~ ;-) And Mr. Yang and his wife are just more than helpful, I cannot be more appreciative...
  2. Both the closest and my POE. We live in the city, I only saw JFK from NYC. Laguardia would be closer though, but didn't see it on the list... =\
  3. There is no rhyme or reason what determines which gets sent to CSC or interview. Yes if they send it on to CSC the should send you a notice of this, as well as indicate it on line, and if you have Email notification set up, you get an email like this one for us last year. ah, very neat, thanks dnoblett! I think I did set up the email notification thing before, but never received anything. they suck! =P
  4. True... I'll ask my husband to call the JFK CBP then. Thanks to all! =)
  5. What if it just sets in Chicago with nothing being done to it? Wont sit in Chicago, it will be sent to Missouri Service Center (AKA National Benefits Center) where it will be sent either on to CSC or be held for eventual interview. Go by processing time posted for field office, to estimate how long to expect. https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/ptimes.jsp If sent to CSC, then there is no predicting processing time. oh shoot, my case is still under MSC. How do they determine whether to send a case to CSC or keep in MSC for eventual interview? Just luck or depends on the complication of the case? Seems like the CSC route is quicker? If send to CSC, there should be a notice sent to me, right?
  6. i'm guessing it's the entire visa petition of mine, which also includes the medical exam record. Oh well, we already mailed in the I-485 & I-765 and got my biometrics scheduled. I suppose if we lacked any documents, they wouldn't have scheduled the biometrics, right? If USCIS doesn't say anything or ask for it, I guess we'll just keep it until I get my naturalization. =P
  7. what?!! it does?!!! Forward to USCIS and do what? be as supporting documents for the I-485? Or keep on file inside the U.S.? ah our lawyer's useless, I asked him about it, and he wasn't sure either, and told me to just keep it until someone asks me for it... @_@
  8. I was warned that the package was very important and be sure to not open it. My mom read in the newspaper before that some Chinese man didn't know and opened it, ended up having to redo the WHOLE process and couldn't go to the U.S. for a few more years. I THOUGHT it was to be opened by some immigration inspector at the custom. But no, I got an African American who's really nice (a little too nice tho, kept "flirting" with me the whole time and told me that if one day I leave my husband, do consider going to him. Yea, nice joke.....). He did ask me if I had the visa package with me, and I said yes it's in my carry on suitcase and I can get it out if he needs to see it. And he said no it's ok, I don't need to see it, just make sure you have it for when you apply for AOS. But, I don't think I-485 needed it. @_@ So here I still have that visa package in my important document drawer, unopened, and probably never to be needed... Anyone know what's in that secret package anyway? =P
  9. oh great, congrats! 2008 filers are moving rather quickly. Good for us! =D Good luck to Lulu's interview! I wonder what they ask during an AOS interview... Is there a kitchen sink for that too? hehe
  10. My case hasn't been listed on their website yet, it's probably too new...
  11. Thanks! Actually, looking through other CFL members' timelines, I notice the pattern that the 2005/2006 filers took a lot longer than the 2008 filers. and to me, the 2008 filers are not only really fast, but also didn't go through the interview. Is that a pattern or a way the USCIS is trying to speed up this year?
  12. Hi all, I just got my NOA to I 485 & 765, and also the biometrics appointment. I'm wondering if there will be an interview scheduled after the biometrics cuz I remember seeing it in the FAQ and also heard it from some people before. However, reading in the timelines of some of the CFL members who recently received their green cards, I don't see any interview taken place. Should I expect/prepare for an interview or don't bother? Thanks! =)
  13. Congratulations, Michael and Fang! Gino - why did your biometrics take so long? did you have time conflict and rescheduled? My biometrics is scheduled for 6/24. =) Hopefully EAD and green card don't take too long too. Good luck to you and Lu lu!
  14. CONGRATULATIONS, BIG ROGER!!!~~~ Yes, the help and support gained on CFL is the key. I wouldn't have gotten my pink so smoothly without all of you either! (Our lawyer was useless...)
  15. WOOHOO!!! CONGRATULATIONS, ROB & JIN!!! =D Looks like Roger can't wait to hear the details. But we can understand since his turn comes in A WEEK!!!
  16. If you call DOS, they will tell you whether the visa has actually been issued. Doug called the day after my visa was issued, they told them that visa has been issued but not printed. And they were right, because my packet didn't reach the post office on thurs (as it was supposed to) but on Fri. and picked up on Sat. The delay was due to their 1-day printing delay.
  17. That's why I requested the Monday !! Yes, China Post is open on Saturday and Sunday. First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!! I stayed at Mr. Yang's (Tianyu Garden, the one right next to the consulate), among all the good things that came with staying at his was that he told me about the EMS tracking and actually had his wife track it for me. The post office is open on Saturday but closed on Sunday. Mr Yang told me that if my visa didn't come on Fri. evening (whiche means I couldn't pick up on Sat.), I'd have to wait til Tues. So I assume it means the post office is closed on both Sun. and Mon.
  18. Make sure she fills out 2 copies of English DS-156 & 157, and 2 copies in Chinese of each. I only did 2 copies of English since the list says 2 copies. So they made me fill out 2 copies of Chinese for both DS-156 and 157 inside the interview room. I did argue that they only asked for 2 copies, and they said it wasn't my fault, just that the Chinese workers needed to read in Chinese. Luckily I had extra photos.
  19. Congratulations! I TOTALLY understand how you feel! =) I booked China Eastern nonstop 4370rmb to NYC for May 7. Less than 2 weeks...! =D And I agree with all the paperwork discussion. We provided a lot of info with our I-130/I-129F petitions, including reference letter of our company CEO (since Doug and I met at work), my U.S. college diploma, Doug's MBA acceptance letter/financial aid letter (maybe that's why they didn't bother to ask me for I-134 at the interview), etc. And we even sent in extra info after the I-129F petition packet was received, like Doug's letter and our wedding ceremony photos. I think those all contributed to my quick/easy interview. Although I'd like to think that it's becaue the VO was as hungry as I was. =P
  20. visa packet's delivered to EMS in GZ. Pick it up tomorrow morning and back to SH to prepare going HOME! =D
  21. Yes, and Guangzhou makes me even more nervous with all its dangerousness... I'm only 25, you can't expect me to be as calm as you guys are. =P Doug called DOS today, the "clueless" lady said visa's been issued on April 17 (the day after interview), but not printed yet. I guess that means FINAL?
  22. Did you guys track on EMS about your visa packet? Has it been delivered to the post office yet? Mine hasn't today... =( Mr. Yang says it should be LIFO, not FIFO. I think I was the LAST one passed, don't know why my visa isn't delivered yet. >_<
  23. Did you guys track on EMS about your visa packet? Has it been delivered to the post office yet? Mine hasn't today... =( Mr. Yang says it should be LIFO, not FIFO. I think I was the LAST one passed, don't know why my visa isn't delivered yet. >_<
  24. Sadie, talking about BJ, I just recalled seeing a handsome, tall young man with black hair pony tail wearing a shiny green polo shirt and white slacks, speaking Mandarin in BJ accent. Could that be your husband? I think we both moved to the first row towards the end of the morning cuz it took so long and getting impatient. And I noticed him cuz not that many hot guys in the room that day. HAHAHA!
  25. Congratulations, Paul & Jie! =) I saw your wife that day! I was behind her, but not many people left in that room then, I remember she went around 12:30 with VO 23, too. =) She was young, wore a skirt and high heels, and also long hair pony tail, right? I noticed her especially because of her good English. I didn't hear many people speaking English to the VO's. and I remember she was so happy when she got PINK and kept saying "thank you" to the VO. =) Yes, I noticed definitely over 50% pass rate (I was surprised). And yes, VO 22 was SO tough and asked many detailed/annoying questions. I felt so bad for that woman standing there for 1 hr and still got white slip. Her young daughter got so bored and kept running around.
