  1. Is there a limit on trips and time to spend outside the US?
  2. I wonder if it's 835 or 830 RMB. The long time at the bank is a sensible issue for me every time I visit China, as I used to be a branch manager at the largest bank in the island, and I just can't believe the slowness of the chinese banking system.
  3. Congratulations, and thanks for the info. We're also planning to carry just the necessary evidence, including photos from my 5 trips, boarding passes, a reasonable collection of e-mails and the I-134 along with all the supporting docs required.
  4. Can anybody tell me how much is the fee my SO will pay for the interview??
  5. I wonder about the glass window, isn't it too impersonal and uncomfortable for our SO's to speak to the VO through a glass window? Now I realize that maybe some of the girls who had been issued a blue slip asking for a video conversation was due to the fact that their english is not proficient and had trouble understanding the questions.
  6. Thanks so much, your info has been very helpful. Jenny, I had the same thought as you, but decided to answer "yes"and write down my name. I guess they will figure out what we mean.
  7. DS-156: Page 2 Item #36. Has Anyone Ever Filed an Immigrant Visa Petition on Your Behalf? Should we say yes and write down my name? Supplemental Form GNI-2: Item #6 there's not enough space to write down the places of residence since age 16. Is it OK to state "See form attached" and staple it to the form? Certification of Legal Capacity and Intent to Marry: Just write down my name and the rest to be filled out and signed in front of the visa officer? DS-156 & DS-157: Should we fill out 4 in total, chinese and english versions? Is it Ok to write addresses in chinese only? Are there any other forms in the P4 to be filled out in both languages? Thanks!!!!!
  8. Great news!!! Best way is to e-mail and tell them that you're very short of time as your interview date is coming up. Don't even bother to call D.O.S. for this. Give GZ your mobile # and ask them to call you to verify that they got your correct mailing address, I guarantee you they will call. Your P4 is definitely lost as they sent it EMS so it should only take around 2-3 days depending on the city you are now. I won't risk filling out the downloaded forms, besides, you need the appointment letter to enter the consulate. Keep in mind that the P4 forms should be all filled out in order for the hospital to seal the famous brown envelope, and the med results take around 3 days to be ready. Good luck!!
  9. Alex! hope you're doing fine, and how nice to hear your words of praise for your loved one. And thanks for the good wishes, I guess I'm one of the few CFL moms.
  10. Victorias' Secret is always welcomed of course, their body creams are great and perhaps you can buy her some cute little boxers. Lady Godiva's chocolates are great also, I always bring a box with me when I visit China and my SO loves them! Lingerie, why not??
  11. What is a safe date to do all the med tests? How long will it take the hospital to have the results ready? Is it possible to have the tests done before the P4 arrives? One more: is it true that passed interviews get a pink slip instead of a white one?
  12. Can anyone here provide me the "wording" this "certified" or "notarized" copy of passport should have? Do you guys really think is absolutely necessary to do this if I'm not going to be in GZ at the time of the interview? GZ does not list it as a required document in their website.....
  13. Thank you so much to all of you who remembered us! I got the help from a lawyer at my Congressman's office who in turn has a contact at D.O.S. who resolved the matter in days. I promise I"ll tell the whole story later... How did I managed to survive? Have a good friend in Maui who went thru the same hell as me (and finally succeeded also) which gave me a lot of advise and support through this ordeal, and of course the love and support of my SO.
  14. nooneufo, you're doing a great job, thank you! I'm glad to share with you all that finally we got his name check completed and was registered at GZ system on April 13th. Hope that interview comes sooner than later, it's been a looooooooong wait.
  15. I got certified copies of my income tax returns for years 2001, 2002, 2003; this year I filed my return through the internet and got a confirmation plus I printed out the return. Will this be accepted by the Consulate instead of a certified copy? Also, do they keep my SO's original birth certificate?
  16. Thanks a bunch Mark, did he mentioned how many VO's there are? I hope that their estimate on speeding up the interviews is based on hiring more VO's, it's all a matter of simple arithmetics, don't ya think so?
  17. I'm now looking at all sites, and they got very good deals, you guys are experts on these matters! I'm concerned if it will be possible and easy to change dates later if needed. Jenny, I'm very happy that you made it safely to USA. I think very soon I will post some good news. I've written to every possible office, to include Maura Harty, still haven't got an answer from her, but we're almost at the end of the road... I've found that in order to move things along, you need to knock on the right doors, later I will give some details on what has happened in the last months. One thing I do want to say is that founding this site has helped me so much in getting useful information and to cope with one of the most difficult situations in my life. Thanks Don and the others who had such wonderful idea and initiative.
  18. You guys are great, thanks so much!!
  19. Hi all, I have not been lately what I used to be before, our case is still stuck in the name check HELLLLLLLLL, I'm doing my very best to get it resolved, and it's been the hardest times of my life, but hope is still alive.... Anyway, my SO had been relocated to GZ and am planning a visit next June, it's the first time for me to go there. I've seen some special offers at Expedia.com, best deal is with Delta Airlines, and I wonder if anybody can offer some good advice on this (both Delta and Expedia). As we're planiing to visit HK, I guess I should get a multiple visa, right? Thanks as always!!
  20. Better late than never!!! Congratulations to you both, I'm very happy for your good news. :redblob
  21. You guys are awesome, and thanks for the good wishes.
