  1. I was talking to Jie on webcam last night. She got real excited and started showing me the mail her sister just handed her that very minute. It was our P3! Pretty awesome way to get it, right there while we're talking to each other! Jeff
  2. Rob, I don't know what's funnier, the actual story and the visual we get from it, or your use of the emoticons to give the perfect reply without saying a word! B) Jeff
  3. Tony, I'm by no means an expert here, I've read lots of good advice from many folks. My first trip was last October, spent almost the whole month there, and it was awesome. I'm leaving again Friday for my second trip. I wasn't to worried I might forget something, as it can easily be purchased when you are there, cheaper. Even house shoes. They got some for me, but it took a while to find some my size. lol Travel light would be my best suggestion, fighting a crowd of people trying to squeeze though a small opening to get on a plane/train whatever is no picknick. Even just walking down the street. Tiny little chinese girls will muscle right in front of you. If you are lugging a couple of big bags, they'll run you over, IMHO. lol New Years will only be worse. Jie told me before I left, "don't worry you run out of clothes, we can wash". Others had some good suggestion about the paper work. But my first trip, like Dave said, I just wanted to consentrate on her. I just wanted to see how we were together, and savor that time. I was there almost the whole month and knew her a year before I went, but the time still flew by to fast. JMHO, Jeff
  4. Welcome to CFL Jeff. As I'm sure you've figured out already, if Jie says she's got it worked out, she's got it worked out. Have a great trip! Hey thanks. You're right, last trip she handled everything, we had a great time, saw some awesome places, and no glitches. I just kinda showed up in Guangzhou, and she took it from there. So definately no worries this trip either, it just cracked me up the way she said it. "I got it worked out". I just know we're not flyin', and she said the buses and train will be full. I think Guilin is still a little ways away from Liuzhou so I hope it's not pedalin'! lol Jeff
  5. Hello everybody here at CFL, I thought I'd jump in, introduce myself, and add my 2 cents here too. I've been enjoying hangin' around, reading, and educating myself on the process, and reading your stories, for about two months now. I'll be making my second trip to China on Feb. 1. OKC to Detroit to Tokyo to Guangzhou. Meeting up with Jie there, and the next day we'll fly to Guilin and then head down to Liuzhou. Not sure how were gettin' there, Jie says she's got it worked out. lol Last time we took the 15 hour train ride in a sleeper car from Guangzhou to Liuzhou. Pretty cool way to go actually. I'll spend New Years in Liuzhou with Jie, and the future in-laws. Then we leave Liuzhou the 12th, and head back to Guangzhou, and I'm back to the States on the 13th. If that sounds similar to anybody elses itinerary, I'd be happy to meet for tea, or a meal, or just to say hi. It's always nice puttin' faces with names. Jeff
