Hi there! Firstly, thank you to all who kindly support newcomers. This is such a lengthy process! We were approved for CR-1 this past week. We are so excited and happy! Are there any travel restrictions with this visa such as you must stay within the U.S. for 6 months per year consecutively or cumulatively? I couldn't find this Q/A on .gov site or here. Hi! Our interview is scheduled for next Tuesday, Oct 14th. If approved, the medical report says we must relocate to the US by March 25th. We were planning to visit the US during CNY and then move to the US full time May 1st. Do you think we should tell the GZ immigration people this plan during the interview or just keep it to ourselves? Is it okay to visit for 1 week during CNY, exit the US and return to the US full time on May 1st? Unfortunately, this relates to the China annual bonus pay out timing... Warm regards, Ben

Hi there, Is the A-number 8 or 9 digits? The number I found through USCIS is 8 digits but the I-864 shows 9 spaces. I think I have the right number? Is the case number the A-number? Best regards, Ben

CR-1 and IR-1 are visa classifications - simply the "IV Category" which is printed on the visa. According to the Dept of State, the actual classification is determined at the POE. The benefits are determined from the POE visa classification - there is no such thing as a "CR-1 or IR-1 green card". The green card is either conditional (for less than 2 years of marriage, also determined at the time of processing at the POE) or unconditional (more than 2 years) Many thanks for the explanation, Randy! USCIS has approved the Form I-130 for my husband and we are now in the process of submitting the required DS-260, photos and copy of his passport to Guangzhou Consulate before we can make an interview appointment. Would anyone give us some explantion on the difference between CR1 and IR1 please? It seems that CR1 is conditional IR1 Spouse of US Citizen. What are the conditions?
