  1. This is a shot in the dark....I'm hoping to get (very) lucky on short notice. Does anyone know of anyone that could perform a wedding ceremony, speaking both English and Mandarin, around central Ohio? We won't need someone licensed by the state, because we'll already be legally married by the time of our ceremony. We just want someone that will be able to perform the ceremony, look nice, and speak both langauges...in a about a month and a half. I've tried area Chinese churches, but unfortunately they're not helpful. They require months notice, marriage counselling, or membership in their church. Since we'll already be legally married, I don't want extra requirements from someone that I don't even know. The ceremony is for our family and friends, and I'd love to be able to have her parents included without an interpretter.
  2. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ahfjqg6-nM1GdFhoY2hOampvRzl1bk85aTFVdUk5eGc&usp=sharing#gid=0 Our case is the one marked "JC" Edit...oops....didn't mean to embed it.... Oh well?
  3. I'm happy to report that our visa was approved last night! Or, at least...P5. Between changing jobs and having her come, life's going to be a whirlwind...but I like it.
  4. Could you please tell us details of what happened? Did they send an e-mail? Did they send a packet express mail? Did CEAC update in a meaningful way? Thanks. Also, congrats!
  5. Our case just updated today, April 2nd. It's the first update not related to an e-mail reply since December 6th. Hoping it means something good is going to happen this week
  6. How do we update it, when our case is updated or visa is approved? The spreadsheet is "view only" for me.
  7. Oh, we've only been waiting since the end of October. I know others have been waiting longer, and our wait isn't really beyond average yet. Last activity on CEAC was December 6th. I was mostly just fishing for a little bit of hope that our wait won't be so long. It's rough being the one to calm everyone, and reassure that we'll have the visa eventually. It makes it worse that the CO said "3 or 4 weeks", and before that two different "friends" tried to convince her that lying was the best option. Without a more transparent system, it's just soul crushingly slow. Hope your case is approved soon, though...so that ours can move up in the queue.
  8. Has anyone noticed any improvement in wait time in the past couple of months? I know there's no point in trying to predict approval, but I'd feel slightly more encouraged if the wait seems to be improving.
