Hi, could I ask anyone how to submit the DS-260? because there is an invoice id number required before you can open the form. I submitted I-130 and be approved to make an interview appointment now, but there is no information about that invoice id number anywhere. So even I made an appointment this month, I still don't know how to open the DS-260, not mention fill and submit it! And there is no require from embassy to ask me to submit one neither. Could anyone know what's this situation? Does that means I don't have to submit a DS-260 because I have already been approved through I-130?

But the visa type you showed here is for nonimmigrant, not my case. I am applying for a Green Card. So I really can't find the payment you showed. I applied I-130 on May, and got the interview notice on September. Are the new instructions mean only the people who apply a Green Card (the first step) after Sep. have to fill DS-260 form? And I don't have to fill one DS-260 form since I never submitted any electronic paper to Guangzhou embassy, but only post mailed DS-230. Is that right? I only have to prepare the documents required before for my interview? Because no one and no where can I got any information about the invoice id number which is needed for open the online DS-260...

We have already scheduled an interview in Guangzhou and thus far, no invoice was received indicating that I needed to pay for the interview fee. Furthermore, when I went to CITIC bank earlier this afternoon here in Beijing, no one at the bank could tell me how or where to pay for such a process. Although the online notice indicates that all applicants must fill out the DS-260 form after September of 2013, I have already submitted the DS-230 in April of 2013. Do I need to fill out a DS-260 as well? If I still need to fill out a DS-260, then what should I do with the requested invoice number, which was not included on any of the instructions sent to me via e-mail or snail mail. In this case, how would I go about paying the interview fee prior to arriving at my interview?

I would attach a copy of a few bills showing US Home address, and the driver's license. (Petitioner), and father-in-law checks 1.d. (Joint Sponsor) These I-864 should have been sent to NVC when they request them and an $80 Affidavit of support processing fee paid, since you indicated that the NVC was involved. Was the petition filed in Beijing or Guangzhou, or was the petition mailed to USCIS in the USA? The petition was filled and submitted in Beijing and NVC has since contacted us to schedule an interview in Guangzhou. It seems that since my husband has been in Beijing for the past several years and is currently an unemployed student, that his father will need to sponsor my citizenship process. However, when we began this process, a joint-sponsorship did not apply as my husband's income for the past several years would fall well below the poverty line. Although he has been living in China for the past three years, he still receives his bills and letters at his parents' house in California, which is also the permanent residence listed on his driver's license. In this case, would he also need to fill out an I-864 and will his father need to fill out the I-864 as a joint sponsor?

So, in addition to my father-in-law's forms, my husband will need to fill out an I-864 also along with a copy of his driver's license? Will a copy of his passport also work? His permanent address is at his parent's home, where his bills and letters are kept or forwarded to him when necessary.

And as to the "proof of residency of citizenship to USA", what should I provide? The copy of passport isn't enough?

No， my husband said because he is currently a PHD student in Beijing, so my father-in-law should be the only sponsor. But he only realize that when we come to the preparing interview stage. So at the beginning, my husband applied for me and filled the I-130 form as required. But since they required three year's tax returns, we turn to my father-in-law for help. He sent us his tax returns, fill the I-864 form and sent his copy of passport too. Is that alright?

Thank you! What a relief! I thought I might have to reschedule or something, because my surname showed twice under the "application name". There are only two characters in my name, in this way, there are three. It's kind of not my really name anymore, so I am so afraid that it will fail or not be able to get the interview because of this. So I just have keep this mistake because I can correct the error in the online system, and I will explain to the workers during the interview? -
Thank yo very much! I got it! But there comes another question. Actually, it is my husband who filed the I-130 form at the beginning, not my father-in-law. My father-in-law just give me his three years tax returns, which is a lot of paper, his photocopy, and he filled the I-864 and post mail to me. Is that OK? He is the only petitioner.

Just now, I made an appointment for my interview in Guangzhou, but when the confirmation e-mail was received, realized that my surname was printed twice. Signing back onto my account, I see that I am able to change the Chinese characters in my given name and surname, but not the Romanization or English name. Will this effect my appointment or jeopardize my interview? And if so, how can I change my name on the registration page to only include my given name, instead of my surname under both headings? Looking back at the application in both Chinese and English, I realized where the error was in translation. In Chinese, the page should specify 'given name' with 'without surname' ‘名字（无姓）' as to ask for a name in Chinese, we will normally include both our given names and surnames if you asked for a name （名字）. Any information anyone here can provide on how to remedy my current registration name repetition would be greatly appreciated.

Another question to this long queue: My father-in-law is the petitioner for financial support for me to immigrate and I am unclear as to how much the total fee would be. The US consulate webpage lists both $420 for petitioning and $230 for processing the I-130 forms for relative immigration. Which of these will I need to pay, or will I need to pay both?

I am filling out theDS-260 Online information page - in place of the old DS-230 form and the website keeps asking me for an Invoice ID number. I have looked over all of my information, especially the e-mails and letters from NVC (which informed me that I can now schedule for an interview) and I cannot locate the Invoice ID number anywhere. So, my questions are many-fold: 1) Where can this number be found and how do I request for one if it was not included in the information I have already been provided? 1.5) Is the Invoice ID number only given to me once I have paid for the interview? 2) Also, the payment for the interview and application, must it be paid before going in to the consulate for an interview or can it be paid in the consulate itself prior to interviewing? 3) Last question - do I need to complete the DS-260 form prior to scheduling for an interview or can I schedule an interview first without completing the DS-260 form, as I have only used and submitted the DS-230 form before?

Sounds correct, I think you meant to say I-864 from your joint sponsor not I-184. I-864 is for CR-1 or R-1 visa. I-134 is for K-1 visa. Yes, sorry, my writing mistake. I meant to say I-864 instead of I-184. and I am confused now that first I heard there are two versions of I-864, and I have to choose the latest one, which I can't tell. Then, I found the following instructions in this website: http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3197.html you need form I-864P to complete the I-864 Review the Form I-864 Checklist Print the completed form(s), and Attach the bar code sheet and mail them to the NVC unless you have joined the E-Mail Electronic Processing program, then… Scan the I-864 to Portable Document Format (PDF) and send it as an e-mail attachment to NVCElectronic@state.gov. Sending physical documents to the NVC will delay the processing of your case. When sending completed forms to the NVC do not include instruction pages or any other sheets which do not carry information you entered while completing the form.Is that means my father in law has to mail the I-864 form to the NVC instead of posting mail to me and then handed over by me? I am totally confused now......

Thank you for all your patient response! If I understand right, my father in law now only should fill an I-184 form with his signature and post it to me and a photocopy of his passport, since he has already mailed me the last three years' tax returns? When I am in my interview, for the finance support part in the list, all the documents I have to submit are an I-864 form, a photocopy of his passport and the Printed PHD tax returns. Am I right? Thank you again~

I am in the final stages of preparing for my interview in GZ and just wanted to verify that I have everything necessary: 1) DS-230 2) Passport 3) 2 passport photos 4) Birth certificate 5) Marriage certificate 6) Police records 7) Physical (which needs to be scheduled once I have my interview number) 8) CV 9) Proof of relationship 10) I-864 sponsor form (pending) Also, since my husband, who is an American, is currently studying in Beijing and therefore does not have a permanent stateside employment, my father-in-law is sponsoring me instead of a joint-sponsorship for expediency and would his tax records for the past three years printed from PDFs, passport photocopy (proof of American citizenship) and the I-864 sponsor form suffice for sponsorship application, or do I need something else from his end as well? Also, I wasn't sure what an I-130 form applies to, and just as a precaution, also asked my father-in-law to fill it out. When would I need the I-130 form? Do the forms, I-864 (and if needed, the I-130) need to be personally signed by my father-in-law and sent to us via post, or would a PDF or digital copy of the form with his signature suffice?

Dear US consulate , This is the first time I went to this forum, so I sorry I don't know how to edit the title after I accidentally posted before I wrote the whole question. My question is : "Should I get a no criminal record from English because I spent more than one year in England to get my master's degree there?" I am a Chinese, but I went to England to have my master's degree during 2008-2009. I am currently applying for permanent residency in the United States and have been asked to provide a police certificate from all countries where I resided for more than six months, which includes my time in England. I wrote three letters to the embassy in Guangzhou through the email provided in their website, and each letter is about two or three weeks later than the previous one, but there is no response by now. So I am not sure whether I should get one no criminal record from England. I think because I have got my master's degree already, if there is anything criminal on me, they would not have given me my degree. But if the embassy insist that I should got one no criminal record, how could I get it and who should I contact, since I am in China. Actually there is another question, I got my"Schedule your visa interview appointment" letter on Sep. 6th. But because I haven't figured out how to get the no criminal record, I have not made my appointment yet. Is there a deadline for my appointment? So appreciated if anyone could help!
