  1. If all is well, most likely she will be asked to come back in... Don't worry delays; just get them what they want, when they ask it. thinking 'delays' is a path in insanity on some level. Focus on the next step. Now wait to see what they say next.

Thanks David for the good advice, I am happy to report though that we received an approval notice via email last night! I'm astounded by how quickly the issue was resolved but I'm certainly happy with it! Now they want us to just mail in her passport to receive the visa!

  2. We received a blue-slip due to not having the co-sponsor's spouse sign the I-134. We turned the forms in last week, one thing I am a little confused about is the new process going forward. She was given her passport back at the consulate, and the blue slip did not indicate to send it in. Will she receive another notice to send it in, if all goes well?

No we just got NOA2 a couple weeks ago

Plan on some time NOA2 to P3 there has been a report of a long wait in this thread.

Just got off the phone with NVC, wrong birthdate wow. Checked the first NOA and the birthdate is correct there. They said to email them a copy of her passport to correct it but they already sent it to Guangzhou they said.

I have read the site a lot recently and have been learning as much as I can. Of course, I want to do everything I can at this point to strengthen our case and I thought of something that I hadn't read much about anywhere. Some states require or prefer pre-marital counseling and many accept online counseling. If me and my fiancee completed the course, would it be wise for her to bring a copy of the completion certificate to the interview or would it be presumptuous? The completed certificate is good for a year. I'm leaning towards including it as it shows some effort and intent to marriage.

Any other suggestions out there I'm open to. I feel like we have a little less evidence than I would like as I was living in China and didn't document everything very well until the end of my residence there. We have dated photos, and train passes along with chat records and skype records, but I want to make sure I'm doing everything I can.

    Thanks in advance

Did you schedule the interview on CGI stanley? I'm trying to schedule but it always says no appoinment available.

  5. Premarital counseling? Never heard of that, have yet to see any other member posting doing that. I doubt it would help your case.

You say you lived over in China as a resident, why did you not marry over there and filed for a spouse visa at the consulate in Guangzhou or Beijing?

Dated photos, train passes chat records, etc should be attached to the visa petition filing, the consulate tends to not accept any additional evidence just prior to the interview, they will only accept what is requested in the OF-169

Study the interview, and questions FAQ:

My income was far below poverty guidelines, I thought at the time it was imperative to establish a decent salary in the states. I realize now co-sponsors are an option but this seemed like the only feasible way at the time.

  7. Give it a week or so and then contact NVC either by phone or email. 603-334-0700 NVCINQUIRY@state.gov Provide them with USCIS case number, and the name an date of birth of beneficiary and petitioner, they will provide you status and the GUZ number assigned.

A week or two after NVC indicates the case has been sent on to Guangzhou, contact them by using email form asking if they have received case, and provide them with updated contact info. http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/immigrant-visa-unit-question.html

Once they indicate P3, then follow the instructions here: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/cn/cn-iv-visaapplyinfo.asp

Thanks so much, I'll be reading more and probably popping in for a question or two as the interview inches closer

first post here thought I would piggy back this thread; I recently received NOA2 woo hoo! However me and my sweetie are a little concerned about receiving the p3. Is it true that it is emailed now? Or is it still mailed? The issue is that her phone number changed since the filing and at her current address she cant receive mail without a phone number, or else it simply wont be delivered. If it needs to be changed who do I contact? NVC, USCIS, or the consulate?

    What type of visa?

    K-1 P3 is much different than CR-1 and IR-1 P3

    Its a K-1 P3
