  1. Well, at least you're being proactive and bringing a jacket with you! I can't tell you how many times I've given up my jacket (not that I've minded much) to my SO so she doesn't freeze while passing by the refrigerated section of the grocery store. It was really clever forr you husband to help you adjust to the tempeture difference by using the dog, I hope you all (including the dog) have many more happy years together!
  2. Wait, so does she want to open a business or does she want to go into realty? If she's looking to go into realty, I found an interesting article on licensing, but if she's considering opening a business which leaves her susceptible to liability, I would definitely consider reading up on protecting your small business. Either way, it's running your own business is definitely a huge responsibilty, but for some it is overwhelmingly rewarding, I wish you both the best of luck, her especially!
  3. I've heard a lot about Kayak, but I haven't tried it, and I was considering looking into the Cheapoair air, as well. How long in advance would you suggest booking with Kayak? And is there a certain time of the day on Wednesdays that's better than others? (It'd just be nice to save as much as possible on airfare, especially with fuel prices so high)
  4. Been trying to talk the wife into doing just that but she says "no want." Haven't had a working TV here for several years and it looks like it will be many more years. To be honest, I don't use my TV very much either unless I'm streaming Netflixs, Hulu or basic cable through it. Most of my viewing is done either on a computer or through a computer in some form or fashion. I don't plan on buying another TV for a long time, because there doesn't seem to be any reason to.
  5. Yikes, sounds like an uncomfortable situation - but at least it didn't end in an arrest like the OP's ex-girlfriend's case. Honestly, I feel like this could happen to anyone, even myself - I love a good bargain.
  6. Links should work, they do for me. Do not copy and paste into address bar, should be active links, just click them. Is same info as on Beijing site as on Guangzhou site. Nothing complicated, if they had valid Visit visas withing the past 4 years, the should be able to renew by mail. http://guangzhou.use...y-china.org.cn/ (under visas non-immigrant) Links worked fine for me - sent the web address to my lady friend whose parents are renewing their visa. Their not too worried about it, but I understand how the birth of a child is a more pressing issue.
