  1. Just got a call from my wife after her interview while she was waiting in the post office line. She got the pink paper and we are both overjoyed. I already booked flights so now need to book hotels. My wife said she saw lots of people get denials and was starting to get nervous. She assume the people who started crying as they left the interview windows got denials. She had to wait 3 hours before her number was called. She got a white male as her interviewer who spoke perfect mandarin according to my wife. My wife did the interview in English and here is how it went: 1. My wife first greeted the VO with a "hello how are you" and the VO replied back to my wife in English. 2. VO asked if she spoke English. My wife replied "I speak a little bit of English" 3. Vo ask my wife for our pictures which my wife gave him and she stated he took a long look at all the pictures. I visited my wife 3 times so we put each visit pictures in a labeled zip lock bag and labeled each pictures with places and names of people in the pictures. We did not include any of our professional taken wedding pictures. I did have my wife include our reception dinner pictures. 4. VO asked my wife "what does your husband do for a job" that is a quot from what my wife said. My wife replied with "He work as a computer tech". On all our forms I put computer tech as my profession so it matches. 5. VO asked "how many time have your husband visited". My wife answered 3 times and gave month and year. 6. last question VO asked "have you every been to US". My wife answered "no" 7. VO asked my wife to please sit down and called her back after 5 min gave her the pink paper and said to her "now you can go to the US" Looks like June is starting out good for us and hope the best for the rest of the group.
  2. My wife got her Chinese passport and medical done this week. She has a friend who works in the Chinese immigration office that helped her get the passport in 2 days with no extra charge. I would have loved to go there this weekend but had to settle for June 11 week. And also did anyone else not get a notice in their interview invitation for document turn in date. The letter my wife got just had the interview date but nothing about document turn in day. Did GUZ change their process to interview day only? My wife is still going to GUZ building on may 31 to turn in her docs just in case. My wife grew up in Guangzhou so she knows the city like the back of her hand which is a plus not having to worry about not finding GUZ building and that pesky to find post office some people have hard time locating. My wife is scared to death of having to speak english and having the VO misunderstand her. I told her to answer in English if she understands and thinks she can answer back in english like yes/no questions or simple one two word answers. I have confidence in my wife and there are no red flags I can think of for our case. No ccp, no large age gap, I make way over 125% poverty line, neither of us have kids but wants kids, We did all the paper work ourselves thanks to the internet forms like CDL and VF. Turns out my wife went to the GUZ Consulate and asked them about the interview and document turn in. They do interviews in chinese if you want. Now I'll have the gitters until June 1.
  3. Thanks for the info. I found what I was looking for on the interview form Pined threads. Turns out you do have to supply all the notarize forms again. What a pain in the butt. We spent $200 getting all the notarize forms again. And I had to email my wife last 3 years tax returns and prof of employment.
  4. I know this has been asked but I just want to make sure. On the P4 there is the Appointment instructions for immigration visa application letter. Under the sub title The following items are required for the visa interview, I think if we already sent in the items listed then we should not have to bring it in again but my wife is under the impression we have to send again. We sent in all the documents on that list during ds-230 phase. So it looks like all we need to turn in during the document intake is medical papers, passport and her interview appointment paper. The link to this p4 packet is below. since we did cr1 I assume its the IV Appointment packet. http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/forms_and_packets.htm
  5. I thought we would get at least 3 weeks notice for the interview but that is my fault for assuming. My wife was able to get a expedited 2 day passport. And will be getting her medical done tomorrow. Now just gotta pass that interview. Since we will be the first group to go I will be first to rejoice or cry.
  6. Just got our interview date for June 1st. GUZ is cutting it close, we only got one week to prepare. I don't even have my Chinese visa. And my wife don't have her Chinese passport only her Hong Kong passport. Now we may have to postpone to July interview. We are rushing to get everything done and hope we don't have to reschedule.
  7. When I first meet my wife I would say her English was 3 out of 10 . Our first phone call was pretty much 10 minutes of laughs and giggles with me trying to speak very broken Mandarin and she very broken English. My wife did take a few English classes and I bought a learn Mandarin language software. I could not find any Cantonese learning software but my wife speaks both dialect. Now her English is 7 out of 10 since we chat everyday on MSN chat and Yahoo chat. But my Mandarin is still a 3 but I can at least count to 100. If you can count to 10 in Chinese then counnting to 100 is easy and its the same for up to 1000. This comes in handy when shopping with your wife in China. I know my Mandarin will get better but my wife prefers to speak Canonese, lol.
  8. Thanks for the replies. I did read that others on here where able to use the electronic filing for GUZ, but I found the CFL site to late to have found this information. Now it looks like July or August before my wife's interview date.
  9. This is my first post here and I'm also a member at visajourney.com. I came here because visajourney did not have to much China immigration posts but it is a very informative site I would recommend to anyone looking for immigration how to or information. Me and my wife are at the P3 phase and just waiting for our packet to get to GUZ and that interview date. After sending our ds-230 I waited three weeks for a conformation email then decided to call NVC. Turns out our packet was completed March 8th but not yet shipped. They had my email wrong but for some weird reason I was still getting emails from NVC. I got the I-846 and DS-230 notification via email. So if you don't hear from the immigration office don't hesitate to call them. I used 603-334-0700 to call nvc and I called early in the morning and got through in like 5 minutes to a live person. Now to wait for the snail mail to china if they every mail it and then wait for the 2 -3 months for Chinese customs to clear. I did read about the electronic filing on the nvc site when I started NOA2 but it said on the site that they are testing. I didn't want to be beta testing for the nvc and opted for paper.
