  1. She passed! YAY!!! Now comes the trip planning A little Irish luck today - we received her Visa on St. Patrick's day!!
  2. Thanks for the info. My wife hands in her documents tomorrow. When we got the appointment letter from the consulate.... that's all we got. Just the appointment letter. A little frustrating. She has copies of everything we submitted from the I-130 to the DS-230 & I-864. We are doing CR-1... but we missed out on the electronic processing (partly my fault, and the agent we asked didn't help us in that regard either). Anyhow, since it's traditional, not electronic, we gather she'll only need to hand in the medical, and bring any extra things to the interview (lot's of pictures, chat records, e-mails, a new employment letter - just in case, and statements by family, friends and coworkers). I still wonder if we need more All the advice has been to have as much as possible, and I always try and think of 'more' I think I'm being obsesive
  3. Less than a week till my wife's interview. She went for her medical exam this morning. I couldn't go with her for it though I miss her already. Since we got married, and even before, we have never spent more than a day apart (like when she needed to see her mother, and I had to work). I'll go with her the morning of the interview (I was lucky to be able to arrange that ) I'm sure all of you who are waiting are just as anxious and nervous as we. I keep thinking about it, and I know we shouldn't be nervous or anxious, but one can't help it - it's a major life thing. Since we got the interview letter, we've felt like a couple of chickens with their heads cut off. Even with all the help from here and Visajourney.com, and the visa agent we asked to help us, we have been obsessive about preparing and wanting to know what to prepare We're both thinkin' pink! And hope the same for all of you. I'm going to go call my wife... later~~
  4. Waiting and preparing. I wonder how many times we'll double check the documents :P it ALWAYS feels like we're missing something. I guess we're just both too anxious.

  5. My wife and I have read conflicting information about when approved people get their visas... it is kind of disheartening. It doesn't mess with our travel plans. When we began the process, I had no idea it would take this long So, as every little thing added to the time, I finally figured we should wait to get tickets until we get the visa back! I think that really is the best strategy.
  6. We called the DOS last Monday (Feb. 1st), and they informed us my wife has her interview on March 14th! YAY!!! It's been a long road. We're both so excited. I'm looking forward to being home again (I'm a bit homesick). I really want to show her where I grew up, what life is like there. She's met my parents and one sister, but there is still a lot of extended family for her to meet hahaha It'll be great. Everyone who's met her has said she already fits in the family and feels like a part of it.
