. . . Also, if you don't qualify, but are still determined to do this, then you can use your relative's income to help you qualify but I think they have to sign some statement agreeing that they will support your wife if you can't.
If no qualify, then get a co-sponsor. They will fill out an I-134 (notarized) just like you, but co-sponsor. Send this in with your I-134.

One thing that I did to make it more helpful for them was to include a cover sheet on top, outlining the contents. Then I put the contents in the order listed on the cover sheet, using big paper clips to group the different items together.

Received Welcome to USA NOA today. It says we should receive new permanent resident card within the next 3 weeks.

Lets' hope she gets here before the BCIS folks at the national level find out that things are going too smoothly here in LV. If they find out, they surely will figure a way to clog the process.

Hmmmmm.... now that you mention it, the last time I heard from him, he was in the DIA airport getting married. . . but that was several months ago.

Really, don't worry about this. I am telling you the same thing GZ told me when I got worried about it. Mick is right. Our interview was several months past the exp. date. We filed the I-129 in Nov. 2001, and received visa in March 2003.

I also recommend a good router with builtin firewall. I use Linksys. Also use a good anti virus software that updates frequently. I stopped using Norton and MacAffee several years ago. I On-Track utilities which has caught things that Norton and Mac have not, and also updates at least once per week with new virus patterns. It is the absolute best that I have ever tried. I have been using it for 3 or 4 years now. My pc is on and cable-connected almost 24 hours a day.

Glad to hear from you, Mark, and that things are going great for you. In the Black Hole Days, you were my inspiration to become proactive. After you finally received your visa, I felt that you had bothered the INS so much that they finally granted your wishes. I then decided to do the same and continue the fight for myself and others.

6 1/2 months processing time was unheard of as recently as March of this year. Three cheers to the evaporation, finally, of the Black Hole of '02!! Things seem to be going semi-normal now at BCIS and GZ.
Why, you wonder? I don't think it has so much to do with Colombian coffee. Could be that it is a result of our democratic process in action -- the process whereby enough people talk often and loudly enough, and the government finally listens. I like to think that CFL and its members made a difference in motivating and helping our BCIS to fix what was broken. Congratulations to all here at CFL and all our friends in the BCIS and good job!

The info and help is still here. The help you need and the answers and contacts you need are likely in some of the many older posts that are still on this site. Could it be that the many jokes and other off topic posts today are the result of the visa process now proceeding more smoothly? Back in Nov to March, it was at a standstill.

You do NOT need to send bank statements, stock certs, employer letters, etc., UNLESS you cannot otherwise prove you meet financial requirements. Send your most previous year's tax return. If you can, send the last 3 years. Definitely send your most recent 2 or 3 pay stubs. If anyone is self-employed and has questions, ask me. I was self-employed when I first began the k-1 process.

The I-693 medical supplement is the form you will be sending with your I-485. Since you will be filing this at the local BCIS office here in LV, now might be a good time to try and get in touch with the local office and ask them about your particular situation.

You notice that our AOS is approved and she is now a conditional permanent resident of the U.S. and free to move about the world. AOS approval removes the need for Advanced Parole (and more filing fee).

I have always used Global Express. It generally takes 4 or 5 days from LV to Beijing. I have always used English characters for the address.

If you reported the e-bay sales on your income taxes as income, you have the proof you need. Also your assets (such as bank accounts, savings, car, property, count for 1/5 of the shortage - if you are short $1000 of the requirement, then you need $5000 in assets). Hopefully this will give you some ideas. I researched this since I was self-employed when I initially filed the I-129F. Of course, by the time the INS finally gave us our interview, I didn't need the co-sponsor, assets records, etc., because I had gone back to work.
