  1. Congratulation, wish you a nice vacation in China
  2. trust me, nothing but pink for you 3. I suggest attending ACH on monday and get your nerves relaxed.
  3. Heh, I kinda like Guangzhou. should come visit dalian this time of year, then you will get the idea.
  4. i have driven some 30,000km in china, most of it on highways, and i agree night driving in city is most dangerous - parts of china have started banning drinking and driving, but these idiots (at least 50% of all chinese drivers) don't turn on any lights even when it is pitch dark! What kind of sh** culture is that? I understand why wife's girlfriend wanted a Hummer now. And, it is still true that, killing someone is much cheaper than injuring someone - so keep that in mind, don't get involved in accident, or if you do, try to make it a fatal one, economically speaking. My advice, if you are not confident with your accident-avoidance skill, do not drive.
  5. how could that happen, but it did happen - 2 days after leaving GUZ we realized that our lady paid only one shipping fee but expecting 2 visa packages ir1+ir2. No release of visa and document from 5th floor, without 2nd fee, we were told. Flying back to miserable guz just to pay a silly fee? Oh, no, it's 3 hr+ from dalian! fortunately, mister yang pitched in, rather creatively. We thank him, so should the VO, who was really the source of this silly mistake by issuing pink with only one name attahced.
  6. Greetings: My wife has her interview on 15 June a Tuesday. I will be arriving in Guangzhou before that. So I am wondering if it is a good idea to go to ACH prior to the interview the Monday before? If I did go, what are some good things to point out to the VO about our case? Should I inform them that I am there supporting her? Should I inform them that she is almost 5 months pregnant with our Child? Should I let them know she really wants to try to have the interview in English? Should I try to hand over a new EOR Letter? What other possible things I could offer up that would benefit our case? Oh, I should be sure that the wife has my passport to give to the VO, Correct ? anything else?? Any all suggestions are welcome.. The nervous have started already... Leaving 12 June to be with the wife for the interview. Thanks Dan Seattle i went in to make 2 points that i did have concerns with - the friendly junior officer not only listened patiently, but assured me that he took notes on the case computer thus made sure that the actual VO will read the notes before the interview. I was instantly relieved. We then chatted a good few minutes, covering attractions and delicacy temptations in GZ, me being the last on line for ACH. it's been a worthy visit - you get to see where exactly the interview will take place.
  7. PINK - in 7:30, out 10:30 expecting EMS ~Thursday
  8. company address ok? or does it have to be residential? i was told residential postal mail devliveries are prone to theft and other losses.
  9. mine is 2 year visa multiple entry - but my agent says i got lucky as chicago no longer issues 2-year's the week after

    ACS and ACH

Seriously considering making my presence on May 10. Can someone with recent experience confirm ACH is still available as walk-in ? The above link seems broken
  13. ....If you opt-in on 03.30 they should already have a GZO number for your case. not that quick, i am afraid
  14. Dan: one more - for AOS filing, is there a $70 fee for I-864 in addition to the $1010 I-485 cost?
  15. 1) to those who have inside knowledge: after I-130 approval, what does NVC/GUZ get from USCIS? Only the approval notice, or the entire package with all "front-load" pages? 2) to those of you who have petitioned for 2 applicants together such as wife & step child (on same trip), did you use just one I-864 and pay $70 for both, or did you have to submit the same I-864 twice and pay 2x$70 ?
  16. You two look very matched! She is a lucky lady to have found you. Don't worry, even if she is reluctant to leave China, America is much better place for her son, your future step-son to grow up. I too suggest you make more trips. Best luck to you
  17. Ever consider starting a family in FJ and then move over to IL? Good luck with new interview.
  18. very helpful information, thanks a lot. I will try to get a hold of NVC live person today, to confirm.
  19. thanks for replying. I just called NVC answer service and was able to learn GUZ# for I130 by inputing the USCIS WAC# but was told there is no record for my I129f case. Curious how do you people learn of NVC in and out info? I suppose this is only relevant to I129f/K visa
  20. Hi everyone, I am new here. I received I130 and I129 approval notices last week, but the I129f says "valid from 2/19/2010 to 6/18/2010". Is this normal? Does it mean CIS allows 4 exact months for us to complete the K3 process? GUZ website says people tend to opt with IR1 over K3, which is certainly in my mind right now. Anyone had luck with the new electronic system? Lots of questions, i know. Any response is much appreciated gracedad
