  1. love is a game. Sometimes we miss and get hurt but that doesn't have to keep us from taking a chance again. if you really like a girl considering all the abovementioned concerns, give her your best shot. See how she reacts and take your next step from there. You can hold on and wait for love or say goodbye and move on. Let us always remember that it is better to lose a battle that we fought than to lose a battle that we never had the courage to face. just my two-cent opinion beijinglady

  3. Hello everyone. I have a question regarding the visa fee for K-3 applicants? Is it 830 RMB (visa processing fee for non-immigrant visas) and/or 2,925 RMB (immigrant visa fee as stated in Form 169)? I would greatly appreciate receiving any feedback from the group. Thanks a lot. Beijinglady

  7. THE ANT AND THE CONTACT LENS A true story by Josh and Karen Zarandona Brenda was a young woman who was invited to go rock climbing. Although she was very scared, she went with her group to a tremendous granite cliff. In spite of her fear, she put on the gear, took a hold on the rope, and started up the face of that rock. Well, she got to a ledge where she could take a breather. As she was hanging on there, the safety rope snapped against Brenda's eye and knocked out her contact lens. Well, here she is, on a rock ledge, with hundreds of feet below her and hundreds of feet above her! . Of course, she looked and looked and looked, hoping it had landed on the ledge, but it just wasn't there. Here she was, far from home, her sight now blurry. She was desperate and began to get upset, so she prayed to the Lord to help her to find it. When she got to the top, a friend examined her eye and her clothing for the lens, but there was no contact lens to be found. She sat down, despondent, with the rest of the party, waiting for the rest of them to make it up the face of the cliff. She looked out across range after range of mountains, thinking of that verse that says, "The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth." She thought, "Lord, You can see all these mountains. You know every stone and leaf, and You know exactly where my contact lens is. Please help me." Finally, they walked down the trail to the bottom. At the bottom there was a new party of climbers just starting up the face of the cliff. One of them shouted out, "Hey, you guys! Anybody lose a contact lens?" Well, that would be startling enough, but you know why the climber saw it? An ant was moving slowly across the face of the rock, carrying it on it's back. Brenda told me that her father is a cartoonist. When she told him the incredible story of the ant, the prayer, and the contact lens, he drew a picture of an ant lugging that contact lens with the words, "Lord, I don't know why You want me to carry this thing. I can't eat it, and it's awfully heavy. But if this is what You want me to do, I'll carry it for You." I think it would probably do some of us good to occasionally say, "God, I don't know why you want me to carry this load. I can see no good in it and it's awfully heavy. But, if you want me to carry it, I will." Doris
  8. I agree..Let us always remember that there is a reason for every trouble that comes our way. We just have to believe that they are meant to make a clear path for something better to happen in our lives Doris

  10. Hi Ms. Xiao Hua. Yes I am from Beijing...are you in Beijing? Doris
  11. i'm sorry to hear that.. Getting a US visa is really difficult. The visa officers always think that visa applicants have the desire and intention to migrate in the US . So the applicant have to convince the visa officer otherwise.. Not sure what are their basis of denial if they only interview the applicant for only 2 minutes. Doris
  12. Hi ttle_99.. I got the tourist visa when i was still single. I just used the passport with my single name. . No questions from the Immigration officers... Doris

  16. Hi Tony After the wedding, I came to US on a tourist visa and stayed there for 3 months. We deferred the visa processing, to give me enough time to be mentally and emotionally prepared before I permanently migrate to US . I know it will be difficult for me to be away from my family and friends and to live in a country and embrace a culture so foreign to me. I am so happy that my husband supported and understood my concern. And now I know I am ready to live in US, start my new role as a wife and to accept each other’s cultural differences. I realize that married life is truly a wonderful journey; far wonderful than the freedom a person gets from being single…. Doris
  17. Hi everybody. My name is Doris and I live in Beijing while my husband, Rex lives in Florida. We got married on 22 July 2002 in Beijing and we filed our petition papers on March 12, 2003 (for the I-130) and April 23, 2003 (for the I-129F). I think with the new procedure being implemented by the NVC, the release of k-3 petitions will be a lot faster compared to the old process. Pls. see our timeline below: Mailed I-130 to Texas SC - 3/12/03 1st NOA for I-130 - 3/22/03 Mailed I-129F - 4/16/03 1st NOA for I-129F - 4/25/03 2nd NOA for I-129F - 5/12/03 Notice from NVC - 5/21/03 Packet 3 - ??? Visa issuance -??? The letter from NVC did not state anything about the name check. It stated that the State Department’s NVC has recently received an approved I-129F petition and thus the letter is to inform the petitioner that within a week the petition will be forwarded to the US Consulate in Guangzhou. I am happy to hear this good news from my husband. Although I will still continue to pray that the visa will be released before July 15, so I can fly to Florida and be with him on our 1st wedding anniversary. Doris
