  1. No, she want's it born here Yeah, but the baby would have dual citizenship to age 18 if it was born in China. China does not accept dual citizenship and has gotten sly at figuring out who has USC.
  2. My time line... Met my wife in shanghai 5-2008 married in Nanjing 12-2009 filled dcf in Beijing 2-2010 ºÜ¶àÈË˵½ËÕÅ®µÄÊÇÃÀÅ®¡£ congrats! Was your wife ever issued a tourist visa? My wife wants to know.
  3. A lot of us never receive the P2 in the mail. This is what I was referring to in my previous post. I think I called it "NOA" Don't want you to get confused. EDIT: We emailed Beijing concerning this and they sent us a reply confirming that our case was approved and sent to Guangzhou. While there the man said they would update me via mail. I laughed and said that won't work! He then suggested I give them my email for notification.
  4. My wife was wanting to know why you were able to do everything so quickly?
  5. Congrats, Well if you are waiting in Beijing with nothing but time on your hands I would love you invite you to dinner/lunch
  6. Wait you got everything done in 3 months ... really?!
  7. Yep I just filed with them yesterday. I used a lawyer in the states to organize the paperwork. I just don't need any hiccups. They said it was beautifully organized. What does P1 mean? Has it been shipped to GuangZhou? For that matter what is P2 and P3? My lawyer also gave me a packet to hand the consulate in Guangzhou. When do I give them that? Rodger
  8. I am a US citizen living in Beijing with my wife. I just submitted my I-130. I will not be filing a K-3. Can someone fill me in on what comes next. I get confused on the timeline because everyone else is filing more paperwork than me. Rodger
  9. I don't mind getting married here in China, but then I can't file for the K-1. I need to file for the K-3. I hear that takes longer before she can go to America with me. Boy is America a pain in the a** RW
  10. we have been living together for 6 months and known each other for almost 2 years. Is that too short?
  11. Wow, this was full of good information!!! Let me get this straight. If me and my fiance file for a K-3 we must live in China for 2 years but can travel to the USA as much as we want?!?! We have no real desire for her to work in the USA, but she does not like the fact that I must go to the USA often without her. I just want my "soon to be wife" to be able to accompany me to the USA. I love my job in China. In fact my Chinese boss said I could work remote from the USA as much as I wanted in order to see my daughter, but the USA won't let my wife accompany me because "she is too poor". It make me so angry! rw p.s. keep the good info coming.

  13. Currently me and my fiance & I live together in Beijing. I have need to move back to the states due to family issues. I am now realizing that this maybe a long process, which I have yet to start. Is there some site for my wife (really she is my fiance I call her laopo) to talk with others Chinese women? She gets so discouraged. (She doesn't speak English -- we speak Chinese at home) What are the advantages for k-3 or k-1? Will a k-3 allow us commute for work between the USA and China easier? RW
