  1. Make sure you take crisp new $100 dollar bills if you are going to trade for Yuan. If they are not in good shape many banks will not accept. I put my money in a pouch worn around my neck for safety while travelling. You can buy this just about anywhere. I think I got mine at K-Mart. If you are staying in a fairly nice hotel they will provide good toilet paper. And good laundry service too. Make sure you get foot massage at least every other day.....very cheap and feel great!!! Don't forget the electrical adapter....
  2. Thanks Jim, the concern is that she does not speak much English so everybody agreed that it would be best (and quickest) for her to finish college in China. Otherwise she is going to spend a year or more learning English well enough just to attend college here. By the way, how is CiCi doing?
  3. You can go thru with the K1/K2 interview. After receiving the visas and coming to the United States, you can file form I-131, Advance Parole and let her return to China to finish college. That's one way to appraoch it. Hey Ty, how long do you think it would take (approx.) to file and receive the advance parole?
  4. Don't count your chickens before they're hatched here, guy. There is no law that states that - the visa requires that the "child" be under 21 and must apply for AOS by age 21 - but does not explicitly require our K-2's to remain children anymore than it requires our K-1's to remain fiance's. My future daughter is 18yo so she still has time before turning 21 anyway. My main concern (and hers) is getting her education in China without giving up the progress of our immigration process which is almost complete. Interview is in two weeks in Guangzhou.
  5. My fiance's daughter is attending college in China and wants to finish her schooling there but we want her to come to America with us. Is there anyway she can come to America with us after the interview and then return to China for schooling without waiting for the green card but still get her green card without going through the immigration process again? Did I explain this right?
  6. I called the IRS and they sent my transcripts via fax. I had them before I was off the phone with the very helpful Lady.
  7. They told me the same thing on a Monday or Tuesday and they had my interview date by that Friday. Don't call them on Friday though until early afternoon their time. Gettin close Baby!
  8. Hey Tim, I hope you translated this story correctly. I sent it to my girl and if it says something crazy ...I will see you soon
  9. Whoa - I did read it, and it was NOT deleted because of the OP. He posted HIS side of what happened, hung around a little while, and got out. I would like to read it
  10. I didn't read the post you are talking about Dennis, but I'm sure it was deleted not because of what you said, rather because of the statement of the original offender. Stick to your principals dude.
  11. Good point Lance. I think you might have something there. <fixed quote>
  12. WOW, that's amazing!! Congratulations!!!
  13. Wow Don, that's kind of screwed up. Hope it doesn't interfere with your plans for the trip home. Probably just a glitch. Good luck.
  14. Keep the faith brother. It will go quicker than you think!
  15. Good tactics, flawless execution.....Congratulations!!!
  16. My impression is that you don't understand China at all. I suspect you've never read any books on China either. China hardly knew a thing about the capitalistic west when it first opened up in the modern era. To this day, many of the state own companies still can't compete at all if their state support were pulled. To expect China to be perfect within 25 years when it took the US over 100 years to be where it's at now is truly the laughable assertion. They knew as much what they were getting themselves into when they opened up and started rapidly industrializing as the US knew about the consequences of the Iraqi war at the beginning of the invasion. My impression is that you may be book learned but not very practical in your thinking. What does knowing about capitalism have to do with knowing if you are polluting or not. I have never said that China should be or can be perfect. I have cited on this thread at least twice that China is on a learning curve just like everybody else. And to compare war with pollution is really, well I won't say it. But to think that they didn't know they were polluting is absurd. This is the subject we were talking about. There our companies in America that survive on subsidies also so I don't understand where you come off acting like I said something different in reference to China. Let's not try to put words in my mouth that were never there, please.
  17. That's right Thomas!!!! You go boy! I took it as a joke... but that's just me and all the other's who don't buy into what they are feed... That's just you all right
  18. Pink is the color of love Congratulations!!!!
  19. China has some of the brightest scholars and scientists in the world. How can you say they are like 13 year old girls. That is laughable They knew what they were doing from the git.
  20. The answer to your first question David is....yes...but I am not an apologist. The second statement is not relevant if you are directing it towards the way I believe. As I have already stated in this topic, America has made the same mistakes about pollution as most other nations. We have paid the price for our misdoings and will continue for many years. I do not know of another country that has benefitted from our productivity and resultant pollution problems, step up and help us with our issues. If they have, it was from technology that helps curb pollution. And I am sure it was not given to us for free. In a perfect world I would say, ah, what the hell, let's spend as much money as it takes to take care of their problems. But from past experience we know that many times, this causes even more problems. Kind of reminds me of our own welfare system, if you catch my drift. Polluting countries have to burden themselves with their polluting ways. There are smart men that live in these countries. They know what they are doing. If they care is another thing. The US throwing money at them is not going to speed their moral change. They have to hear the cries of their own people like was done in our own country before things will change. Yes the pollution affects the entire world but you cannot force your neighbor to clean the dogshit off his lawn. Does this sound kneejerk to you?
