  1. Thanks for posting the English version.
  2. Hey Tim, do you have this in English so I know what it says in case she asks me something about it. Still trying to learn Chinese.
  3. Wow, she wears no jewelry. What were your thoughts when she told you this? I respected it thinking it was a Chinese way. I was a bit surprised. I never knew a woman who didn't like some kind of jewelry but she doesn't care for it. She's one in a million! Me, on the other hand, had to have a ring, a wedding band, one I had made. It's really cool! It's sterling silver with my wife's Chinese name engraved upon it. I get quite a few compliments on it. I love it! I posted a link to the website that makes them. If you'd like, do a search using "poetry ring" as the key word. The link is there. It was the perfect place to get my ring made. It was exactly what I had in mind. Uncanny, to say the least. But it's a cool site. WoW!...that's been 5 years ago! -good luck! Lets hope she never hears Diamonds are a girls best friend. Though she would more than like say my best friend is standing next to me. Yes you got yourself a one in a million. Hope mine is that too, which I think she is so far.

  5. Ok, I read in another post, that in China there is only one ring for marriage. So when a man asks his lady, does he give her a ring? What is the right way to do it?
  6. After taking an intro to cultural anthropology class I walked away with one thing for sure. That is we can not judge another culture using the values from ours. In order to understand things like money we need to look at that cultures views on money and why it would or would not be asked for. Also what the money would be asked for (as in use).
  7. This sounds like what I have been thinking all the long. The two cultures have to become one of your making. Plus the statement "I am learning you" goes both ways. Learn and Meld
  8. Hey thanks and I do feel better after hearing what all of you had to say. I feel a little foolish now, mind you only a little foolish. I will get over the feeling of foolishness and be stronger because of it.
  9. Hey I wanted to say thank to all of the answers that I have received so far. I have to say that I did not think of these things and the internet courting is new to me. The idea of showing the love without saying anything is some what a new thing to me also. All of these ideas give me some things to think about. I was thinking like a westerner more than looking at the bigger picture. If any of you have more ideas please tell me.
  10. I see what you mean here by what you said to the outward and inward love some what. But should there not also be a inward feeling for her of the Love? I agree that when you do something for the person you Love without them asking it does show your love in one way. This is part of it the other part is what you say, what you feel and yes the physical contact. Lose any of these and there is nothing to save a relationship. You need to say your love, show your love and make physical contact to feel the love between two. Remove one and the death of that love will come, it may take awhile, but it will come.
  11. Hi All, It has been a little while since I have been on CFL. Is there a culture difference in the way Chinese and US couples show love. I meet Lilike on line and it has seemed to be going on good, but every so often we get derailed by her saying she does not totally believe that I love her. She was married before and from what I know, her ex lied to her about how he felt for her. We have not been able to meet face to face yet and she does not want to trust all I say until this happens. Any thoughts on this and what do you think I should do. I am worried that we are doomed and don't want another fail relationship. One divorce is enough for me and I can't handle another one.
  12. Now that is twisted if you ask me. Almost fell out of my chair reading that. I will really enjoy this and what is to come.
  13. Great one. got me rolling............... to SO and all of the different meaning that one want to put to it. May they all fit for what you want them to fit.
  14. Welcome to our World. As with the link that was provided, it will help decipher the code of the "SO" (Secret Organization) This link is not passed on to just anybody, you must guard it with your life. If your life is ever in danger you could try to throw it to help save it,,,, well, maybe not. I used to think all the acronyms were sort of like learning to read Chinese, sorta-kinda, but in time you will get it all sorted out. Hi all, Thanks again. Not real new to this wide world of the internet just never heard the term SO until I joined this site so I can learn what trouble I got myself into. I've played with computers on and off since the 80's. Started out on a Trash 80 (Radio Shack TRS-80). Owned a Commodore 128 and just about one of every model Intel (IBM clone). Now I only use AMD powered CPU machines.
  15. Thanks I don't feel as dumb now. I may still look it, but don't feel it.
  16. I am seeing the acronym SO all over the place on this forum and don't know what it means. Please enlighten me on its meaning.
