  1. A friend told me that an ID card will do the trick. I am not sure about it but no harm to try. Does anyone know where I can apply for an ID card??
  2. Hello all, I live in the suburb of houston. Without a driver license, I am like handicapped. So I read the driver handbook and went to DPS for the written test only to be informed that I am not eligible because I am still literaly a K1 holder. I applied the AOS a month and a half ago but still, apart from the K1 and I94 visa, I don't have other status. The lady at DPS told me that I have to either have a work permit or a greencard to be eligible. Do I really have to wait that long? For a month and a half, my AOS status is always "acceptance". It's being processed at National Benefit Center. It's a bit wierd to me as I thought my case would be processed at a field office. My work permit and AP are under "initial review" though, but still haven't got the letter for the biometric appointment. I want to work or drive so bad so I hope my case is going well. I saw so many people got their biometric taken with two months after they filed for the AOS. Can anyone tell me if I should wait or react or i panic over nothing or something is really wrong?? Thanks
  3. Thanks everyone. I think I have my answer and I will not be bothered for the form. Wish me luck for the interview !
  4. Some one said the OMB expiration date does not mean the form is expired Then what's OMB ?
  5. Thanks C4racer, your information makes me feel much better now.
  6. Dear All, I just discovered a problem on my I134 form. The expiration date is May 31st while my interview date is on 1st June. I went to the USCIS site to download the official version and it's the same expiration date. I searched everywhere online, same expiration date. I dont understand, how is it possible that there is no new version available as people are having interviews later than May! Or, should I understand it differently, as long as the signature of my fiancé is before 31st May, then the document is valid ????? I am getting so nervous all of a sudden as I dont have much time left ... If any one has a newer version, please kindly send it to me. Thank you in advance. Jiali
  7. My finac¨¦ received my documents (G325A form and other printed evidence) He told me that our paper formats are different ! Mine is A4 while his is Letter format, which is the standard size in the US. I think it's ugly to hand in two formats but if I¡¡change mine it takes another two weeks and more money. Is it ok that if we hand in every thing in A4 format ? It's just a bit taller and slimmer. How did you guys do ? I guess your wife/financ¨¦e sent you the G325A in A4 paper while you used letter paper for the rest. Thanks in advance
  8. Because that's where my family lives or I live!!!! The flight to Guanghzou is expensive and very long, the flights to HK are long too!! So we decided to go to Shanghai, visit a little the city and then visit my city. Next time, perhaps we will visit Beijing or HK.
  9. Thank you all guys. My fianc¨¦ just booked the ticket this morning!! His mother will go next Monday or so. He get more than a month for the visa. So, I think everything will be fine. He's never been to China and he's so excited about the trip !! We will first meet in Shanghai and then travel to Guangzhou. Any recommandations for Shanghai? Hotels, restaurants, sightseeing. I wonder which hotel allow us to stay together; Some hotels refuse a Chinese girl stay with a foreigner.
  10. Thank you Batman I suggested him the visa service but his mother is willing to help and she will go to the Houston consulate next week. That will make no difference in terms of time as he's going to book the ticket tonight. So better to save the service fee and postal cost.
  11. Thank you. I might make an itinery and an invitation letter for him then. It's a good idea to better prepare.
  12. Hello, My fiance will ask for the tourist visa for China next week. He wants to order the plane tickets now as the prices are unstable. The ticket is non refundable so if he cant get the visa, the money will be gone. I think that he wouldnt have problems getting the visa but just I'd like some confirmation of people here who ever got a visa for China. My fiance is an US citizen, in houston. Thank you all Jiali
