Hi Everyone, I am trying to plan an approximate date for my fiance to apply to grad school as a non international student. I have read a few threads and websites but see different timelines for various reasons. So after getting a fiance visa and getting married in the US it seem like that a SSN can be received in a few weeks. Does this allow her to work after receiving that, or does a I-765 form need to be files for a Employment Authorization Document. I guess bottom line, is about how long it takes for her to be able to work after arriving in the US and getting married barring any paperwork problems/screwups. Secondly, to apply for grad school, she needs to be a permanent residence..ie green card. It seems like this takes about 1-9 months. Is this approximately right? Bottom line what is the quickest to be able to work and to get a green card (ie permanent residence)? Thanks for the clarification and advice
