  1. Okay, that helps a lot! Thanks... I must've typed the code in wrong last time I tried, and figured it was expired... lol... crazy. I just checked again, and here are the details: 2009-10-26 03:23:00 GUANGZHOU Arrival at Sorting Center ¡¡ 2009-10-26 03:32:00 GUANGZHOU Despatch from Sorting Center ¡¡ 2009-10-26 08:48:34 City of Guangzhou Delivery arranged ¡¡ 2009-10-26 09:00:00 City of Guangzhou Delivery And it says signed by the White Swan Hotel. So I guess everything is okay, and we just have to keep waiting. I think I'll take your advice and we'll send another email in a week or so, and include the tracking number.
  2. Thanks, Kyle. Actually, my fiance and I just got back from our local EMS station... they claim that some hotel (http://www.whiteswanhotel.com/) signed for the package on the 26th. We were pretty frustrated until we searched online and found out that is normal, and the hotel is supposed to hand it over to the Consulate. Unfortunately the tracking number has expired online, so we have to go to the EMS station ourselves. Should we send another email in a week or so and ask again how it's going?
  3. Thanks so much, Squirty. Okay, now I'm NOT happy. Fiance just got an email saying that as of today they have not yet received his documents!! Impossible! We sent them over a week ago by EMS, and I tracked the package and it said it arrived the same day we mailed...! Alright, I'm trying not to panic, but this is discouraging. Is this normal? Maybe they just haven't sorted the mail yet but it's sitting in the building?! *helpless sighs*
  4. Okay, my fiance just got an email from them that says the following: Soooo... apparently the NIV form on the website isn't for the K1... but I didn't find the IV email form???
  5. Hi friends: I have a couple quick question for anyone out there who can help... Like I've posted here before, my fiance got blue and green last month. Over a week ago we mailed back the required financial documents, and a couple days ago my fiance sent the Consulate an email on their website asking for an update on the case status, and hasn't heard anything back. How long does the Consulate take to respond to the "My case is under 221g processing..." emails? Do they actually answer with an update? We REALLY want to be "home for Christmas..." Hopefully we'll get that call-in letter soon! Speaking of which, how do they send the call-in letter? EMS? My fiance included a self-addressed EMS label in the package sent back to the Consulate. Thanks so much, friends. I'm so glad I found this website when I did. It's been such a blessing!
  6. A hearty CONGRATULATIONS to you guys! Great news!
  7. Thanks, KJJ. I really think we did everything we were supposed to. Our friend even got the new I-134 and letter of interest notarized in WI, even though that box wasn't checked on the green slip. It would sure be great if we hear back soon!
  8. Well, we got the new I-134 from joint sponsor mailed off today to the Consulate! Let's pray that this is the final loop-hole! I'm *really* hoping that they get to his file before the holidays start, preferably before Thanksgiving, or else maybe it'll get shoved into a pile somewhere and forgotten B) I was so hoping we could be in the States for Christmas. Oh well... just gotta keep waiting
  9. AWESOME is RIGHT!!! CONGRATS! I'm sure I saw you there... but I'm not sure who you are So happy to hear your good news... my sweetie said he saw the younger american guy getting the interviews over really quickly; wondered if that was a good thing or not. Looks like in your case it was! Congrats, again! Yes I did see you both there and said Hi when we got in the building, remember? I am so sorry to hear that your fiance got blue+green slips. Hope you guys get PINK soon. Please let me know if anything I can help. ooooh... so that was you! Awesome... I remember your cheery smile Thanks! I'll keep everyone updated!
  10. Thanks so much folks... we have a close friend helping out with the new I-134... looks like things should be okay in a couple months!

  12. This is interesting to me since we just got a blue... I'm encouraged to see that Yiran was in a similar situation to ours and had a speedy overcome!
  13. WOW, glad to see a blue overcome!!! CONGRATULATIONS! Wonderful!
  14. Yes, the Consulate was closed for Columbus day... bummer... oh well, it doesn't seem like it would've made a difference in our case anyway! yes, I enjoy my family... I miss them a lot. I really can't wait to introduce my little brothers to my sweetie! They're gonna love him!
  15. Thanks everybody. We have a friend who is willing and able to co sponsor. We'll do our best. Can anyone give me an idea as to whether or not they will mail him the pink paper or if he has to go in for a second interview/or appointment? thanks!
  16. Hi all! My sweetie had his interview on the 14th. Sounds like he did a great job. Needless to say we got green on top of blue, due to the fact that apparently my parents don't qualify as cosponsors since I have nine siblings... even though they are above the poverty level. We were told to get another sponsor and send another I-134 into the consulate, and then wait to hear back from them. The VO was very nice to my Sweetie, and even said she was sorry about the complications but that they have a financial guideline to follow and can't cross it. My Sweetheart said that the interview was simple and logical. If you love the person you're going to marry you should have no problem answering the questions... he did so with flying colors. I was so proud of my man! He said it was not at all the horrifying interrogation he expected. They took my hand-written letter and kept it. I think that was a good idea on my part, writing that letter. He said the lady VO asked questions like "What are your fiancee's siblings names and ages?" "Have you graduated? Has your fiancee?" "What do you two intend to do in the future?" "How many children will you have?" "Have you met her parents?" "Do you have any pictures?" (we had 70+, which the VO enjoyed looking at) "How did you meet?" etc... My Sweetie offered to show the sample wedding invitations that I had printed out... she said they looked very nice and smiled. Our travel tickets, phone bills, my ring and receipt, my Guangxi Normal University ID, etc., was never looked at. No harassing, no strangeness, no problems. In the very end, the VO turned to another VO next to her and spoke for awhile. Then she came back and said to my Sweetie, "I am sorry, your fiancee's family just has too many kids... we need you to find a co sponsor within these guidelines," and pointed to a chart on the wall. She said, "here are your instructions," (handed over a green slip attached to a blue slip) "send us a new I-134 and we'll contact you again. You do not need to come in for another interview." My Sweetie was one of the first called up, even though it seemed like an eternity to me while I waited. I was really surprised that the money was an issue.... we had thought through lots of possible problems, but not this one. It's somewhat disappointing, but it looks like it should be an easy overcome. (input??) Anyone else got this before? After we send in the docs how long should it take to hear back? The blue paper says he does not require another interview. How should we expect to finally get the visa in the end? Will they send the pink paper in the mail and we go to Guangzhou again to pick it up or....?! It sounds like the VO was very nice and very professional, and that she genuinely wanted to give him the visa, but they had to stick to that "chart on the wall." Thanks so much for all the support of the folks on CFL!!! I'm praying we are at the tail end of things here... if anyone has info for us or who has gone through some thing similar please share! Thanks again!
  17. Thanks Everyone. We got green and blue Apparently my parents don't qualify as cosponsors because I have nine siblings... even though they are above the poverty level. We were told to get a new friend to cosponsor (which we have) and send the documents back to the Consulate, but that he did not need another interview. Anyone dealt with this before? How long should it take?
  18. Thank you guys! Okay, I think we've got everything together then... we've gotta leave to the train station in a couple minutes... Wish us luck! haha
  19. Yes, that's it... but of course we already submitted that a long time ago... I was under the impression I had to send my Sweetie in with a new one?!
  20. Thanks a lot, KJJ! That helps. I looked online to make an appointment and it says there are no more days available for notarization appointments since our interview is the 14th!! What should I do? Maybe my handwritten letter doesn't need to be notarized? Also, I read somewhere that it helps to get the I-134 notarized so that they scan it in to their system? The instructions say it's unneeded. The older forms required it, but the current ones don't. I wouldn't be surprised if they wouldn't be willing to do it. Have you considered writing an EOR letter? I'm going to make an appointment when my interview comes around, and have it notarized. That being said, I've heard of people being told that notarizing an EOR letter is also unnecessary - however, they were allowed to do so. http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=29818 Okay, thanks for the info. Yes, I thought of writing an EOR... I kind of did that already I think... but then again I've never seen a sample one. Basically what do you put down in an EOR anyway? How long/short should it be? Oh, and I made a couple copies of my "Intent to marry" ... should I get those notarized? If so, anyone know if I can just show up without an appointment for that?

  22. We have our interview same time as you luwebb! Guess we'll be seeing you there!
  23. Hello all! I'm rather new to CFL, but I've read a lot of posts and stuff, and it's been a great help! I'm an American female, my 20th birthday is next month. My fiance is (Chinese) and 27. We've known each other for about 8 years since being snail-mail penpals. I've been in China for a year and a half now, we live in the same town and see each other EVERY day and do EVERYTHING together! We are so in love!! I have a big, happy family and it would be a hardship for them to come to China for our wedding, so we filed for the K-1 last Feb. I can't wait for my Sweetie to meet my Mom and little brothers! My Dad has come here and spent a couple weeks with my Sweetheart, and likes him very much. Anyhow, we're leaving on a train tonight bound for Guangzhou, and I have some questions and concerns... wondering if anyone here can help me out! I'm planning on attending ACH before the interview so I can ask an officer to look over some papers like a letter I wrote describing our relationship, etc., and I'd like to get the I-134 notarized (my parents are the co-sponsors because I have been a full-time student.) Can I get things notarized after ACH or do I have to have an appointment? Also, how much does it cost per item? Can I have the I-134 notarized even though my parents are the co-sponsors? And lastly, has anyone ever heard of an American lady fiance and Chinese male beneficiary and how their interview went? I've been told we may be the first ever, and that makes me a little concerned that they'll be extra hard on him...?! Any advice or input would be so appreciated!!! Thanks so much, fellow CFL friends!
