  1. It's really easy. Not too far from the Yangs, across the street from the Citic Bank in Guz, is a bus stop that goes directly to the airport. Buses leave every twenty minutes and costs 20 RMB per person. The ride takes no longer than 1 hour. We took several suitcases and they were able to store it under the bus with no problems. Think of a tourist travel bus in the States and you'll have a good idea of what I'm talking about. Good luck big man.

You can give Yi Han this link for more information:

You can also call 4008308688 for more info.

The bus is real easy. Bus # 6 get off the last stop. They are 2 number

6 buses A & B is my memory is correct.

  2. Im in a bind my friends. My SO's interview day is on the 22nd of DEC, but the plane tickets for me to get to GUZ are extremely high during the holidays? Im trying to figure out if i should ask the consulate to push back the interview or just take a big hit on my bank account? If i can reschedule does it normally take a extremely long time to get another interview date?

From what I have heard I believe that rescheduling will cost you about 1 to 2 months. I know what you mean about ticket prices, I have been checking as well. They go up on the 21 of Dec and do not go back down until Jan 14. I have been looking on flychina.com they seem to have the best prices around.

Check flying to Hong Kong. You can catch a bus or a train to Guangzhou. Good Luck at the interview.

  3. I tried mj. After 2 weeks I sent it back. I have cable so speed of connection was never the issue. The quality of the phone reception was terrible. My patient wife was talking to her mother, and after the 9th "what", she gave up. That was it for us. We tried i-talkBB and have never looked back.

I also didn't like keeping a computer running 24-7 just to keep phone service. I am glad it works for some, it just didn't work for us.

MagicJack is working great in China now. I bought one to take with me

and it works great. I hear a little static, but the person in the USA tells me the connection sounds great.

  4. Mrs. Yang, I know you read this thread often. I want you to clearly understand that Jingjing and I are extremely happy with both you and your husband. You are making our Guangzhou stay a very enjoyable and relaxing experience. We both feel that you are honest and show great integrity. The negative experience that happened to us today was not your fault, and we'll be certain to recommend your apartments to future people here at CFL.

The Yang's are great help. Mrs Yang found a big mistake one my I 134.

That could have caused a blue slip. Told us several things about my

other papers. A great help. I am so glad we stay with them.

  5. My take on it is:

    1. If you have been married before, you most likely will need an EOR letter outlining your past marriage.

    2. If you haven't been married before, most likely they will not ask for an EOR letter, but it's always nice to have - tucked away in your kitchen sink - just in case.

There have also been reports of people getting their EOR letters notarized in GUZ, before their interview. Some have reported that the consulate workers have taken notice of this, and at times, asked questions about the information on the letter. When asked why, they replied "To help the interview go faster".

As far as statistics goes, there aren't any that I've found on this site. You can review the interview results forum and check it out if you want.

I have 714 pages MSN chat records printed and packed to bring for the interview. Is that a bad thing? I know i over killed everything.

  9. Jingjing and I got our train tickets for GUZ. We're leaving Sunday the 22nd and will get into Guangzhou around 6:30 (23rd) in the morning. We're planning on taking a plane back to Wuhan the following Friday. Instead of waiting around to pick up her passport (because of work issues), we're going to fill out a EMS form and have Mr. Yang mail it to us.

Have a good trip Kyle. We will see you at the Lang's. My plane

get to Guangzhou 9PM the 21st. Zhou Li's get there 935 PM.

All we need now is the pink.

  10. Our interview date is the same. The consulate states that visas can generally be picked up three days after the interview. However in our cases T-Day is on Thursday, so yes, I would agree that our visas will get delayed until at least DEC 1 as Thanksgiving, Saturday, and Sunday aren't working days for the consulate. I think we may have the yang's pick up ours and EMS it to us.

If your visa is approved at interview, you will receive an approval notice from the interviewing officer. Follow the instructions provided in the notice in order to successfully complete the visa issuance process. After the interview, you will need to go to the China Post counter outside the visa waiting room where you will pay a fee to have your passport mailed to you. You may choose to (1) pick up your visa or (2) have it delivered to you. The China Post will provide mail service to applicants from within Guangdong province as well as those from the city of Beijing, Shanghai, Fuzhou, Changle, Nanjing, Wenzhou, Tianjin, Shenyang and Changchun. Applicants from outside these areas should arrange to pick up their visas at the Junyuan Post Office (directions to this post office will be provided to you by the China Post service counter).

Your passport should typically be available for pick-up on the third working day after the visa delivery payment is made. However, should complications beyond the Consulate¡¯s control arise during visa processing, your passport may not be available until later. You are strongly advised not to make any travel arrangements before having your visa in-hand.
