In August the visa fee was about $65.00, now it is $100.00. Will we need to pay the difference?

I agree with trying not to bother GZ. Let them work. But also remember, there is an info line to call for your status, but they are not as up to date as GZ. I beleive a few calls to GZ wont hurt. if it does then we have a bigger problem that CA needs to hear about. If we all stop calling GZ, well in their minds the problem will be solved, time for a break. Only human nature folks. Personally, I havent called GZ in months. I call CA and Powells office.

I think the long waiting for the DOS info line (which I dont think really helps) is I think the Russian group is on another mission.

The delay issue is not finished yet. If there were 20,000 back logged, then the tip of the iceburg hasnt even been touched. GZ needs help from somewhere, maybe a new printing machine. Maybe slower countries could help, something different than what is being done at this time. If we let them relax, then more and more of someone elses priority will get a visa before the back logs are complete. These backlogs need to be done first and soon. The delays wont end untill the backlogs are finished.

I was told that 662-1225 is only an information number and they are not getting updated information. They cannot handle any questions other than is it or is it not cleared. If you want the meaty answers they will have to come from CA office or Powell's office

Here is the Phone number for DOS: 202-647-5291 when calling , ask them for Consulate Affairs not the info line. Or ask to speak to someone in DOS that knows something about the delays, maybe Moura Harty, she is the chief of CA. Remember, they will tell you they dont handle that there in DOS, but they are in charge of the departments that do handle this problem. So, Try to speak with someone in the position that can help. Not the info section

You are correct Eric, the 663-1225 is a DOS info line only accually it is a CA info line which is all under the DoS umbrella. As I was told by one info line worker ( cant say who ) The only way to get answers is to call the CA office or DOS office directly. And to tell the CA and DOS office that the 662-1225 people need more info to help us better. Can I post the DOS and the CA phone number here, its no secret its on their web site, thats how i got it. I have had great luck asking simple question to these people.

Hang in there Eric, Sherlock is working behind the sences. I still think we all should call CA and ask where our case security check is. The big question is, is it in GZ? Im not real fond of the no FIFO either. Im happy some are getting visas, many have waited much longer. I think this is another issue for CA to fix, they are over all the consualtes.
