  1. No, I haven't filed for the I-485 yet. I've been waiting on the certified marriage certificate(urgh!). Should be able to submit it by next week, but I stumbled across the topic so I was wondering. Wait, don't I have to have him elect to be considered a resident for the year of 2010(when he arrived in October), so I have to consider his income in China before that. I guess I'll still file the extension but I have to pay first, but I don't want to pay a penalty if the AOS process gets dragged out and doesn't get done by October(wait, doesn't sound like it would... 6 months from now... ). Okay, I guess I won't worry about the SSN/extension part. Just don't know if I should go to an accountant because I've always filed my own taxes(I don't have anything special). The things people are mentioning are confusing but good to know.
  2. I'm getting more and more confused. For K-1, do I declare I'm single(when I'm not??. I forgot to get the SSN within 70 days(I'm going to attempt it tommorrow, but it'll be the 72nd day so I dunno). Even if he has the SSN, do I file married jointly and include his past year's income on that? He arrived in October, we got married in December. If he does not, I have to get him a ITN, and get his passport notarized? Again with the file jointly/separate question. How do I prove how much he made was really what he made since as someone has said, China doesn't issue W2?
  3. Hi guys, I noticed you all are talking about the Vaccination Documentation Worksheet with the for use with Ds-2053 etc. thing. I heard on Visa journey you can just submit this without transcribing it to the I-693? Even if I did have to have a civil surgeon transcribe it, he only has the first set of shots of the MMR, TD, Varicella. None done on Influenza. Should I be looking around for these shots to be done before doing the I-693?
  4. Good point. In my case I-134 included: Simple IRS transcripts from past 3 years, copies of recent paystubs going back 6 months, and a letter from my employer. Note the OF-169 tells you what will be needed to br brought to interview, you do not send this stuff to the consulate with the OF-169. Yeah sorry, I meant the I-134. You would think I would read directions instead of starting to just collect information right away expecting to have to send it in. Kyle, Thanks for the links, but as I was working from them >.< yet somehow can't read directions, I'm glad that my fianc¨¦ caught my mistake before I made him send out all the stuff only to have it shredded.
  5. My finance pointed out I misread the directions for K1 packet 3 that says only to return the instructions, mailing label and DS-230. I got really confused because I thought we had to file the I-130 in packet 3 and file 1-864 for packet 4. And here I had him wait until I got my tax transcripts, what a waste of time. Urgh, I'm so mad at myself. Wonder why they include the I-130 in packet 3 and not packet 4....because of the time it takes to get the information maybe. Just wish there was a detailed list of what to send like in the beginning of the process, my nerves just are getting more and more frazzled the more I read forums.
  6. It really counts against you that you need a cosponsor and can afford to take 2 trips? Wow, hardcore. Not that I paid for my trips, subsidized by school and once my uncle flew me over using his miles to see my grandma for her 88th birthday(although I spent the rest of the time with my fiance hehe. ) Nothing I can do about that now, I'll just give it to him and see if they want to see it at interview. I also can't do anything about the cosponsor because I won't have three years worth of transcripts anyway(and by the time I filed 2009, I've only been working half a year, so my income didn't meet requirements either). Good to know that all the documents should go to the interview, not the P4 packet or P3 packet. Was curious since one of the forms ask for evidence of engagement, was wondering if I could slip photos and such there.
  7. Hi, although my fiance hasn't received his portion of P3 yet, I wanted to get started on some things on my end. I took another trip between the time I first sent off the application(I-129F) and before NOA2, and I wanted to submit these pictures and receipts and such(since I didn't frontload the original application, no pictures >.<) Is P3 is a good place to submit this or should my fiance just bring this stuff to the interview? Or wait until P4 comes? Also I read on VisaJourney you should submit a complete copy of the 1-129F packet, is this really necessary? (when I was in China my mother decide to spring clean and somehow this got thrown out.... ) Lastly, I know the GZ requires 3 years of tax transcripts or whatever. I am getting a cosponsor because my current income doesn't met the 125%, but do I still need a letter stating that I was a student for the past 2 years? Thanks! I'm just getting a bit confused with everything.
  8. Okay hoping for the best then. *sigh* Does anyone know if I have to notarized something to the effect that I was at school for the last years therefore filed no tax returns?
  9. I just realized that my cosponsor I planned on asking was the same one that sponsored my uncle, wife, and kid on their visa. They all have their green cards and are working, but I'm pretty sure the cosponsor is still on the hook for them. Will this be a problem? He makes about 60k a year, which might be cutting it close if you're counting him, his wife and kid , and my uncle and his family. Then if you add in the two of us.... Maybe I should just ask another person... While I met the bare minimum on the guidelines starting this month, I was a student for the last two years, so I don't have any tax records. I will file for 2009, but my income for the last couple of months I was finding a job means it'll be minimal. I'm guessing this might be a red flag for the GUZ consulate, so I'm trying to figure out what I should do. I know I can use some assets, but those are kinda minimal? About $7k in savings/checking, coownership in a house and a car. Oh, and I'm filing for the K-1. Received NOA2 on March 3rd.
  10. Congrats! Now only if your luck would rub off on me... Mine still hasn't come yet even though NOA1 date is Nov 23rd. I'm afraid it's a RFE.
  11. Hm. Well we're both young so none of the usual barriers except the income part(as I just graduated but I can easily find a sponsor) and the no pictures and keeping chat logs stuff..which is probably the hardest barrier right now. Maybe I should wait to see if I get an RFE or NOA2 before I decide when to go.
  12. Uh, so if we didn't front load the application of a K-1, does GUZ accept them later? We never took any pictures(my camera was in the US, and he uses his phone for that kind of thing, and both of us are not the camera happy people). I'm considering flying back to take those pictures but if GUZ doesn't take them, does that mean my application is already failed? Would it be better if I went during his interview instead and take pictures a few days beforehand?
  13. Thanks! I guess I'll get him to either to mail me some or .jpg it... I don't have any doubts about the relationship per say, but stories that I'm reading make me really scared that we'll get rejected for not front loading enough. I know the obvious choice then is to go back. But while I can afford the money to go back to China, I can't afford the time(not to mention the Visa processing times). Potentially I would have to give up my job to go back, and in this economy(and the needed income requirement), it makes the decision harder.
  14. GAHHH! Apparently my fiance didn't know that passport style photos(although I told him id style in chinese) is 2x2inches... his is only 2 x 1 inch. Should I delay our application longer(it's been 3 months and I haven't pulled everything together, it seems I need to be more on top of this) or hope for the best? I mean his is professional than mine, just a bit small. Also, I'm not front loading my application because there isn't any photos or anything that we took together. Should I arrange another trip to China first to take these photos or submit then go over and submit pictures when they ask for more proof? My internet and life has gotten in the way with talking with him too I'm just scared. argh!
  15. Thanks! This makes me slightly less nervous. I guess I'll force him to get a webcam so we can do video qq. I just need screenshots everytime we video chat? Or something? Sorry, not too knowledgeable about technology. As long as it works, I don't complain. I can't decide whether to send the packet off as is with the stuff I have now(wait, did everyone send the EOR with the first packet?) or just make another trip to get those pictures then send the packet off. But then it would be delayed for another 6 months before I gather enough funds for another plane ticket and get time off work.... Arghhh, I don't know what to do! He of course is going to say up to you. ; Guys are so nonchalant sometimes. On a side note, the G25a is killing me. How do you make the form boxes a little longer? I can't even see the year of my parents birthdate, and that can't be right.
