  1. The checks were returned together with the NOAs I've scheduled an InfoPass appointment tomorrow morning at 9:30am...I'll see what they have to say!
  2. I've mailed my son's AOS/EAD applications on 7/25/07 via USPS Priority mail, certified and receipt confirmation. USCIS locked box received it on 7/27/07 and the mailroom received on 7/28/07. I received the NOA rejection on my son's I-485 and I-765 on Saturday 8/25/07. The Received date on the NOAs dated 7/28/07, with a Notice Date 8/20/07. The reasons for the rejection were wrong fees applied to both I-485 and I-765. I wrote a check of $395.00 for my son's I-485 and another check of $180.00 for his I-765. What is the correct fees for AOS? My son turned 12 on May 07. What is the correct fees for EAD? I assumed the old fees still appiled in this case because USCIS received the applications on 7/28/07 - as indicated on the NOAs.
  3. As my wife is waiting for her AOS interview scheduled for August 9, I am starting I-485 for her 12 year old son Jay, whom just joined us on 4th of July; POE at SFO. Do I need a separate I-864 for Jay? Can I use the I-864 I've filed for my wife's I-485, which includes her son as a dependent? Another question - I tried to apply for SSN for Jay but the SSA office told me K2 Visa holder must have an EAD before applying for SSN...Jay is only 12 years old! Will USCIS issue Jay an EAD? Thanks for all your help guys!!
  4. My wife's AOS interview is coming up in early August. Since she only speaks Mandarin/Chinese, can I be her translator at the interview? I speak fluent Mandarin/Chinese and of course English... Anyone with similar experience during AOS interview?
  5. The experience you've described above is the complete opposite of what I and my SO experienced with Mr. Yang back in March 2007. We stayed at a 2 bedroom apartment put up by Mr. Yang and his associates. Here's what we experienced everyday for 9 days at Mr. Yang's apartment: - Clean apartment with great air conditioning on every room including the living room - Daily visit by a cleaning lady - Hot water showers - DSL internet access for an additional 10RMB per day - Loaner cell phone from Mr. Yang at a nominal fee - Free review of all our forms and documentations - Free personal all-day escort to the Hospital for SO's checkup - When I called Mr. Yang about an issue with the washing machine, within 30 minutes Mr. Yang and a repair man showed up and fixed the thing! - When I called Mr. Yang about a drainage issue in the shower, he showed up with a plunger within 15 minutes and unclogged it! - At all times Mr. Yang, his wife and the lady associate were courteous, responsive and willing to help regardless of requests or the time of request - Last but no least, I requested and obtained a "fa piao" from Mr. Yang when we checkout at the end of our happy, comfortable and enjoyable stay. I think you and your SO were scammed by an Imposter claming to be Mr. Yang. Perhaps you could tell us what Mr. Yang looks like and which floor was his office located? That should clear things up!
  6. I attended ACH on 03/02/07, 6 days before Emily's interview (to show my face and asked a couple of questions) as well as on 03/09/07 - the day after Emily got the pink slip (to make sure GZ prepares separate seal packages for Emily and son since he is coming to U.S later).
  7. I've just returned from China with my SO in my arms For normal days and evenings, dress causally - jeans or khakis. Nice tee-shirts or collar-shirts. If you are going to attend the Friday ACH, I recommend wearing business causal. I personally put on a nice black dress pants with oxford shoes, long sleeves shirt with a sharp looking tie. IMO, you want to give the VO a good impression of you. Also, for your SO's interview dress code, the first impression is vital. The day before my SO's interview, we shopped around in Guangzhou and I purchase a 3 piece business casual suit for her. In addition, ask your SO not to wear fancy earrings and/or carry branded handbag; after all, she is attending an interview, not a fashion show! Anyways, that's my opinion...it worked extremely well for my SO and she received the approval after only 10 questions.
