  1. got you. THANKS, i'll give it a try.
  2. Thanks for your reply. It sounds like overstaying is not even a choice. I didn't know it's so strict. Trasit in and out of china is not an option for me. My condition is actually about my baby who is 3 month old. Her visa is 30 day stay each visit. My husband's visa is 60 day stay. I'm on greencard so I have my chinese passport therefore i stay as long as I want to. The problem is that I want to let my baby stay in China with my parents for about 11 month or so, me and my husband will be back to the states shortly after we visit. ps, anybody survived from an overstaying? anybody extended a visa for a baby? i really need some help. thank YOU.
  3. hello, I wonder how do I extend my chinese tourist visa once I'm in China? I got 1-year-multi entri-visa however it notes that for each visit I can only stay for 30 days. I need to stay much longer than that. If I overstay ,will anybody find out easily? Will the overstay have very bad impact on my next visa application in the future? Of course, I'd love to extend my visa in a legal way there if it's not too much hassle. Can I ask for a longer stay at the custom? I also heard that once I get to China, I need to go to the local police department to register for the stay, is it a must? any tips? thanks a lot.
  4. Yes, in the previous post, I got response for not worring. But also, I was suggested to wait for the further letter they might send to me. HOwever, I haven't receive anything from them for 8 month, that's why I start to worry again. Maybe I should stop waiting and contact them to weed out the possible problem. by the way, are those girls in your avator your daughter? they are very adorable. me and my husband just had our fist baby girl 2 month ago. best.
  5. Yes. I believe with greencard I can work without an actually work premit. However, since I sent in the application and they, at least, need to close the case in a notified way. in the mail, they did not say that since you have a greencard already, thus you don't need to be issued a workpremit. After all, they are two seperated applications.
  6. Hey everyone, It might be a problem or might not be one, but I'm still worried. The story is this, I came to the states with k1 and received my 2 yrs greencard in about 2 month after we applied for it, so it was pretty fast. When we applied for greencard we also applied i-765 which is the work premit. The problem is that the greencard came so fast and early I didn't get any approval for work premit before that. Then I received my gc in mail. After a month or so , we got 2 same mails stating that : " After review, we have reopend the above applicatiob ( namely, i765, application for employment authorization), or reconsidered the decision previously issued. you will receive a notice under separarte cover once all action has been completed. By now, it's been almost 8 month after receiving that mail. I haven't heard anything thing from them since. I start to worry, what would be the problem? I didn't receive any other letters regarding my greencard, tho. Does that mean my work premit was not approved? Does it have anything to do with my issued greencard at all? Anyone had the same experience or anyone knows anything about thnis issue? Please advise. Thanks alot.
  7. Thanks for replying. But I went to Beijing consulate's website, there is no info for me to tell which cities or provinces belong to their range. My guess is Beijing is where my parents shall go to, because I remember when I applied the visa to Canada years ago I had my interview in Beijing, so I assume it works the same for US consulate, Beijing is the one. Just wanna make sure.
  8. I did some research. It seems that different consulate has different rules of the processing of the visa. For Beijing, they want you to apply online? Chengdu consulate seems more straight forward. My parents live in Xi'an, Shaan'xi province, I wonder do they have to have the interview in Beijing or they can choose to go to Chengdu consulate. It's very confusing. thanks for any info.
  9. by the way, there are several cities in China offer the visa interview, such as, beijing, guangzhou, chendu, shanghai,shenyan...I wonder which one is the one our parents supposed to go to? Do we ask for an interview date after sending in the documents or the consulate office set a date themeselves for the applicants? when apply, except the required forms and fees. Do we need to send in all the support documents, such as, parents' banking statement, property certificate, etc? Or we just send the forms and leave the evidence for interview only? Hope somebody can give me some advice. thank you very much.
  10. So this visitor visa for parents takes only about 1 month to be approved ? We've been married only for 5 month till now but we are expecting a baby in Jan. We want to have my mom come to help during the time for only couple of month. We are not rich, but my husband's salary is not that bad. I'm not currently working. My mom in China has retired for years, doesn't have extra work. My father retired from the government oo, but he's currently having another managment job in a private company. They are both at their mid 50's. I have one sister still going to college there. If we only apply the visa for my mom, do you think it is positive for us to expect an approval? I haven't done many research on this one yet, just want to know the odds. Thanks for any advice.
  11. BY the way, at the AOS interview for the 2 yr GC, after you pass the interview, the officer stamped something as a gc on ur passport then took away the I-94, right? he took mine.
  12. Thanks a lot for your reply. Too bad, we wasted the money on EAD. I can see that you ane I have a very similar timeline, hope you get your aos interview soon too,. Oh no, actually, I wish you get the greencard without a interview, hehe.
  13. Is I-797C the AOS interview appointment letter? ( it says on the letter, this will be the initial interview, is this the one ? ) We received the letter yesterday and I didn't expect the interview so soon. I will have the biometrics on 16th June and the interview for AOS is on 26th June. It took only about 2 months to get the interview after we applied, is this the normal speed? I hope nothing is wrong. How long after interview can we receive greencard normally? After I get the greencard if I want to travel out of the states, let's say, only for a short time, no more than 2 months, will I still need to apply AP ( re-entry premit) ? Will I have trouble coming back without the AP?
