  1. Florida now has more COVID19 cases than every country in the world except 4 1 USA excluding Florida 2 India 3 Brazil 4 Russia 5 Florida COVID19 deaths in Florida now exceed China+Taiwan+Hong Kong The infection intensity here per 1 million people is higher than Wuhan at its peak. Oddly enough, the NBA decided to play all its games in Orlando
  2. That probably explains why my wife married me.
  3. if this escalates, expect China to force the closing of an American consolate in China in retaliation.
  4. Blissfully Unaware.... your relatives living in USA (and perhaps also those living back in the motherland or other countries around the world) may not be aware of the coming surge. To share: My wife was calling relatives in China worried about her family given the recent uptick in Coronavirus cases in Mainland China. I told her a few things that she and the relatives back in the homeland were unaware of Our state Florida now has 5% more COVID19 cases than the combined total reported for Mainland China, Hong Kong/Macao, Taiwan and Mongolia while having only 1/73rd the population so we have an 8000% higher chance of getting virus here.Today's (6/19) new cases reported stats (likely from 6/18 not sure how they lag data) were 3,207 for Florida vs 32 for combined Mainland China, Hong Kong/Macao, Taiwan and Mongolia so today we had 10000% higher chance of COVID here.Apple Stre closed all stores in 4 states including our state (she is an Apple fanatic so that one REALLY got her attention more than the actual stats did for some reason)She called the relatives and they were shocked. Good thing that the flights to and from China have been cancelled recently and any new fares would be outrageously expensive. At least she stopped being mad at me for insisting we stay home unless absolutely necessary and avoiding the local Chinese Social Club (a/k/a COSTCO). I read the stats daily and see the cases are rising exponentially and have been for about 2 weeks now. We only go out if necessary,y always bundled in 2 masks and gloves, Stay safe. Remain isolated. The second wave or the 2nd part of the first wave, not really sure how to describe it.... is coming in the USA.
  5. This site has statistical information, graphs showing how fast the virus is spreading and links to news about the virus https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
  6. I have had Tello for 3 weeks now - the $10 + 1.50 in taxes = 11.50 total unlimited calls and text to USA, Mainland China, Canada and Mexico plus 1 go data per month plan. Tried calls to many places in USA, several places in Canada and several places in China (didn't try Hong Kong or Macao so not sure if those work or not) and didn't try Mexico but since I don't know anyone there. So far so good. I keep the data turned off so I don't eat into it when I am driving to and from work or out shopping to download emails or other mindless data. Save that for wifi and only turn the data on when I need to look up something from a non wifi location then turn it off again. Works great - recommended. Can't beat it for the price. Note runs. On Sprint network only and does not roam to other networks so if you drive through one of the areas that has a gap in sprint coverage you are SOL. Fortunately those are few and far between where we live.
  7. https://tello.com/buy/custom_plans I have friends who are happy with this service. Unlimited calls texts to USA, Canada, Mexico and China (from USA)plus 1 GB data for $10 a month. No contract can cancel after first month. I will give it a try, Good ratings for service (check the Sprint map) where I live.
  8. Original poster. Go to a site called Swappa.com. They sell used cell phones tablets pcs and gaming consoles there. Apple commands a premium over android and both my wife and stepdaughter are Apple fan girls. For whatever reason, non Samsung android cell phones and tablets are attractively priced on this web site. Also if you are Sprint or Sprint service lines the price seems to be lower. Look for android non Samsung tablets for the best deal. Swappa payments are through PayPal so you are protected and can get a refund easily if not happy. Pick a corporate seller who cleans up phones and has a lot of ads and good ratings. I just got a 5 camera Sprint model LG v40 release in sept 2018 as their flagship model for $210. Paid 10 each for a durable case, screen protector and Tello sim card. So my investment is $240 of less than 1/6th the new Apple 11 Pro Max. LG makes some good gear but doesn't know how to market it properly so the price after 1 year plummets from $900 to $1100 range down to $210-350 range. The LG phone compares favorably and is probably 90 per cent as good as the latest top of the line $1,250 to $1,500 Apple 11 Pro Max . It even has some nice features (head phone jack, expandable storage shdc card memory up to 2 TB (I have a $40 400 GB card I got on Black Frida and it works great), it has much better sound dac converters etc, screen unlock based on 100 feet of my home in google maps, 3 camera picture preview on back) features that Apple doesn't have or did have and dropped. Because it is the Sprint model it is cheaper. With Sprint, I can get a Tello.com (runs on Sprint network) plan for unlimited talk, text to USA, Canada, Mexico and Mainland China along with 1 GB of data (don't need much as I download stuff on wifi) for just $10 a month. No contract and I can cancel anytime. So far so good. Arrived in excellent condition. I think my Apple fan girls are jealous and want me to find them Android phones from Swappa.
  9. Taught my wife - now teaching step daughter #1 rule - stay in your lane - pick a lane and stay in it #2 rule - your speed limit = posted speed limit minus 5 mph when good weather and posted speed limit minus 10 miles per hour in bad weather #3 rule - when rain - very slippery, slow down test brakes often #4 rule - your parking place is empty spot in the lot far from other cars #5 rule - very slowly driving in parking lot #6 rule - very, very, very slowly drive in parking lot for Asian market #7 rule - no talking, no radio, no food, no drinking, no cell phone - your capability is just barely handle one task of driving #8 rule - stop sign count to 3 and make sure it is safe before moving #9 rule - you are captain of the car - don't move until you have looked and are sure it is safe - ignore when other people say to go
  10. Hi Randy, Thanks for the info. Please see Link to July Visa Bulletin https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2019/visa-bulletin-for-july-2019.html Table A shows that the F2A visa from China (and all other areas including India, Mexico and the Phillipines) is now current. This is the equivalent of a 21-24 month reduction in the line or perhaps stated another way - the line is gone for now. In previous months the China F2A line has moved between 3 to 6 weeks per month (recent months since last Fall). I wonder what caused the line to become current (especially for all countries). I also wonder if this was a mistake that got published by USCIS. BTW This is not my law firm. Since I suspected it might be a mistake so I did some google searches after I saw the July Visa Bulletin which shows Table A Final Action Dates for Family Sponsored Preference Cases to be "C" (Current) for F2A Family Sponsored Visas and found their article and advice. Their advice is essentially for any family members come to USA immediately and file for adjustment as the current status is likely to revert back to a 21 month line in a month or two. Also for any new family members qualifying for an F2A to come to USA immediately and concurrently adjust. I tried making a FASTPASS appointment with my ;local USCIS office but they are not accepting ANY FASTPASS or seeing any walk-ins even if we were to wait for several weeks. So I was just wondering is this a big mistake ? Or did something fundamentally change to shorten the line from 21 to 24 months wait to no wait (current)? At first I wondered if it had anything to do with the Hong Kong protests but I think not as it also impacts F2A applicants from Mexico, India and the Philippines. If I find anything out I will post it here.
  11. From a law firm web site this advice (don't rely on this to be good advice without checking here but I am passing this along as I just saw it) https://www.cilawgroup.com/news/2019/06/13/july-2019-visa-bulletin-fb-2a-is-current-allowing-i-485-filings-eb-china-advances-well-while-eb-india-unchanged/ FROM LAW FIRM WEB SITE ["FB-2A Current for All Countries – Opportunity to File I-485 Adjustment of Status A significant development is that the Family-based Second Preference (FB-2A) category has become “Current” for July and, according to the Department of State, it is expected to remain “Current” through September. This action has been taken in an effort to generate an increased level of “demand” or number of filings. It should be noted that the FB-2A will not remain Current indefinitely, but it is not possible to say at present how soon a cutoff will be introduced. This means that FB-2A applicants, especially those who are in the U.S. on valid status, should consider filing for I-485 Adjustment of Status as soon as possible in July or August in the event there is a cutoff date introduced in September or October. Note that because the cutoff date is “Current”, it is possible to file a brand new FB-2A where the I-130 immigrant petition and the I-485 adjustment of status are filed concurrently. So this is an opportunity to file I-485 not only for existing but also for new FB-2A cases. FB-2A category is for “Spouses and Children (generally under 21 years of age) of Permanent Residents” FB-2A applicants who are pursuing the NVC/Consular may still consider completing their applications so that the U.S. Consular sections can complete the interview and the immigrant visa approval process as soon as possible. Please do not hesitate to contact us if our office can help you take advantage of this (very time-sensitive) opportunity to file I-485 applications. We are also happy to provide a free quote for preparing and filing your I-485 application.] Sounds too good to be true to me The Official July Visa Bulleting does say current for F2A visas. What say the experts here?
  12. Not only is it a fish, it is a very delicious fish. it has a lot of oil in it so it tastes great and does not dry out when the fish is smoked in a barbecue smoker.
  13. I wish this was around in the 1950's --someone could have edited out my "beer belly" gene.
