  1. My step son will need to start the process of his I-751 in the late spring of this year. He is scheduled to return to the US from China at the end of July, which would be a late time for him to get the needed paperwork into USCIS. Can we (me and his mom) complete his paperwork and so forth while he is still out of the country? He is in college in China and it would be hard for him to leave before his term ends. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  2. My step-son will probably be arriving in US in December of this year, on his K-2 Visa. The urgency or concern of this is the fact that he will turn 21 in October of 2010. Is there any way to get the AOS process sped up or expedited as for him to receive his permanent residence before turning 21? Should a letter be written to USCIS or should we place an urgent posting on the AOS parcel stating the time frame of this matter and asking for immediate attention? Thanks anyone for your help!
  3. Thank you very much Randy. But I don't believe he has a file at GUZ as he was never placed on the 129-F petition to the best of my knowledge...other than being her son still living and remaining in China. The only thing I have placed him on is the I-864 as perhaps bringing him here within six months. I just sent in this AOS a few days ago for my wife. Should I go ahead and contact GUZ by phone or by email...or just by mail? Thanks again for your time!
  4. Me and my wife have just decided to try to bring her son here by applying for the K-2 visa. We have just recently sent in our AOS documents (for ourselves) but had not initially petitioned him in the past. I did mention on the I-864 that I would like to petition him within the next six months. He will be 21 in about 14 months. What would be the first steps to take? Should we have to wait upon my wife's AOS, or would we be able to start the process quicker and by what means? Thank you anyone for any hints or advice!
  5. I was a sponsor and married to an immigrant in the past. In 2001, we filed for AOS, but in all honesty, I do not know if we used the I-864. We are now divorced for over four years and I have just remarried a lady from China. The question and situation is that I don't know the status or whereabouts of the former spouse, if she has become a citizen or what have you. The question "21F" asks if you have sponsored any other persons whom are now permanent residents on the I-864. I am very unsure of how to answer this question in the most proper way. Has anyone had this type of situation? Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Hi...I hope you or someone can help with this I-864 question. It is question 21F in the household section. It asks if I have ever sponsored anyone in the past on the I-864 form. And I have, back in 2001...but don't know if it was upon the I-864 form, if the person is a US citizen now, her whereabouts or how to contact her (ex wife). So therefore, I don't honestly know how to answer the question, or whether to put a number down or not. Maybe I should write immigration a letter along with the form? This is being done for my adjustment of status, my wife's that is. I have no paperwork or records from the past sponsorship other than the divorce agreement. Thank you much for your time. Sincerely, Mark
