  1. Hello, A quick question: Will the petitioner be notified by email when the P4 package is sent out to the beneficiary? Thanks, Mike
  2. Thanks for the encouraging words. I am having a difficult time finding that thread you mentioned about guessing the DHL delivery time. Do you remember where that thread resides?
  3. Actually my case number begins with GUZ. Then Snail Mail "Slow Boat to China" You may want to make your lawyer aware of the electronic processing option set up for Guangzhou, it was put into place to get around the customs delay. This way they wont make this mistake with others. Perhaps point them to the DOS pages explaining this: http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_4410.html http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/nvc_pilot_program_of_electronically_processing_visa_petitions.html Thanks, I thinks that's a good idea. I will have to advise them to get up to date with the process. I guess I will plan a trip to see my wife in the interim. I was holding off this trip figuring I we would get an interview date in the near future. Bummer on the "slow boat".
  4. Did you OPTIN for the electronic process and emailed docs to NVC, or did you do everything by Snail Mail? If Snail Mail, then it may be taking the slow boat to China. More about electronic processing can be found here: http://candleforlove...showtopic=37703 I am using Allan S. Lolly & AssociatesAPC, Immigration Attorneys but I don't know if they submitted electronically or not. I will have to ask them. If they sent the packages to NVC by snail mail does that mean the documents will be subject to the 3 month customs hold in China?
  5. My petition has been sent to Guangzhou but I just read in the Guangzhou Consulate FAQs that "Please note that due to a bilateral treaty with China, all immigrant visa petitions remain in Chinese customs for at least three months before being passed on to the Consulate." Is this still the case?
  6. Hi, The NVC received my P3 documents (CR-1 petition) last month and today I received notice that processing of my documents has been completed and the documents have been sent to Guangzhou. On the bottom of the notice is a Priority date of 27DEC2009. What is the significance of this date? Do you think we will have a chance to get an interview date for late October or in November? Getting real excited and want to give my laopo a heads up. Thanks, Mike
  7. Thank you both. I appreciate the information. Have a great day!
  8. We expect our interview date shortly and do not expect any problems getting pink so I don't have the visa to look at. Her sister's injuries are serious and my wife will need to care for her. I just want to get a feel for the visa expiration time lines.
  9. My wife may have to her delay her first trip to the US because her sister was just in a serious auto accident. How long can she delay her first trip to the US before the visa expires?
  10. Thanks David, great information. Also thanks to everyone else for their help. My laopo will be thrilled that I can bring in these iPhones. I will try getting new 3g iPhones on ebay. Regarding jail breaking them, what is the easiest software to use and do I jail break them using my iTunes software. Will this mess up my personal iTunes setup for my iPhone 4? Tanks again to you all!
  11. My wife was asking me to buy 3 iPhones on eBay to bring to China for friends and family on my next trip. Does anyone know if I will have a problem with customs? I want to carry on my iPhone and the 3 "gifts". BTW, the next trip will be for her interview. Getting very excited waiting for word from NVC that package has been sent to Guangzhou.
  12. Regular mail. You can always make a weekly phone call to NVC and check on case status, the automated system may provide you with the status. 603 334-0700 http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3177.html dnoblett - Thanks! , you are always so helpful and quick to respond.
  13. When the NVC has finished reviewing the CR1 petition, how do they typically notify you of the outcome? Regular mail, FedEx, etc.
  14. Good information. Thanks for the fast reply.
  15. I have learned so much here, but I have a question I am having difficulty finding an answer. After receiving a CR1 visa will there be a need to have the "white books" (marriage, birth, divorce and police report) for presentation at the POE and after entry into the USA? If so, how many copies do you suggest we have. I appreciate all the help. Thanks
  16. Thanks to you all for responding. The information was very helpful. Mike
  17. Thanks for the quick replies. My bad, I forgot to mentioned that I am retired and am on medicare so no job offered insurance. I will need to buy a separate policy for my wife. I have been Googling this but would like hear real world experiences. Mike
  18. I'm hoping my wife gets her CR-1 visa approved in August. I am now looking ahead to find a good health care policy for her when she arrives in CA. Your experiences or thoughts on this subject will be greatly appreciated. Mike.
  19. dnoblett, Thanks for the clear explanation. Males good sense. Do you think the CR1 process will add 2 or 3 months the the wait time compared to getting the K3 interview. The USCIS approved my I-130 on May 5th so I was guessing the K3 interview would have been sometime in August.
  20. My I129F and I130 were just approved by the USCIS & I received an email from NVC regarding the required I-864 form and payments required. Today I received an email from the immigration service I am using. They said that "Recently, the USCIS has indicated that they will be administratively closing K-3 applications where the I-130 was approved within a 'reasonable time'." So now the service is changing to a CR1 application. Does anyone know anything about this?
