  1. I have a question, that I seem to have many different thoughts. When she gets her P3, what do we have to send in beside the forms she will receive, I was under the impression that she should send my 3 years of taxes, bank statements and original paperwork filed for the K1 visa. Can I get some feed back to what I need to do. Thanks, John and Siyi
  2. Is it possible to submit your P3 prior to getting it from GUZ? If so does it speed things up a little? Our paper work was sent to them on Jan.22 Thanks John and Siyi
  3. That's different, I was talking about a K1 application. Since you two are married, I think you'll have to show financial support for her. Now that the sending money has been brought to life I have a question. I too have filed for a K1 Visa, I too have sent money to my Fiancee. I have sent her money because, when we first met her English was very limited, in fact the first time we met, I hired a translator to be with us for the ten days I was with her. After we decided to join this stressful process, we decided it would be important for her to learn Engish. She enrolled full time in a Language college. I paid for all of her schooling, directly to the school. She lived on campus and I paid her daily living expenses. We both felt communication was a major factor in any relationship. Question is do we bring any of this up during our interview? She has spent the last 8 months in school and she has done GREAT. We talk two times a day on the phone...everyday and she has accomplished her ability to speak English very well. Thanks, John and Siyi
  4. Well, once the letter, package, arrives in China it needs to be read in Chinese. Think about it, I have sent many packages to China and all have reached my wife. Have her send you in an email her address written in Chinese, then all you need to do is print it and affix it to the letter, package. My very first letter I sent did not make it because I did not send it registered mail. Since then ALL my letters and packages have been sent via registered mail, and ALL of them she has received. Registered mail is the most secure way, you do not need a return receipt. Thanks to all of you, She has sent me her chinese address, I was just trying to figure out how to apply it to the label/paperwork from the priority shipping label, from the USPS. I am afraid if I try to hand copy it I will for sure add the wrong wiggle or two. I guess I will have to ask at the post office. It sure would be lonely without this great site, filled with great help..... thank you all
  5. This maybe a stupid question, but not asking would be stupid, I suppose. I have to send paperwork to my Fiancee, can I use English address or does it have to be written in Chinese. My fiancee is all worried and says I have to address it in Chinese. If I have to write chinese on this label, I am in trouble...
  6. We both thank all of you for being here and making life a little less stressful. CFL is a blessing and you should all be proud for all you do. John and Siyi
  7. The I-134 is used if you are doing a K visa. The I-184 is used if you are doing either a CR or IR visa. Thank you very much.... Sadly I have a lawyer, but he is from Mars and his ship has not landed yet... Do you know if the letter of intent to marry has to be notarized ? Nothing needs to be notarized, not even the NEW I-134 form. Thanks... I thought that but wanted to make sure... see you are from Rochester? I know I could never do this without this site... thanks to all of you John and Siyi
  8. I've had good luck and found the best price at the US post office. You can send an International Overnight Priority package, which should be large enough to accommodate your paperwork for 30-50 USD. Thank you, that is the way I thought I would go, but needed a better feeling then my gut...lol
  9. Hello all, I have to send a box of paper work to china for her P-3 . Can anuone help me with the best, safest and quickest way to do so. Thanks, John and Siyi

  11. Hello all once again, We are preparing for the package 3, as I try to get my paperwork in order, I have some confusion. I have seen two seperate forms for the affidavit of support the I-134 and the I-864. If any one can sent me straight, it would be greatly appreciated. I have tried to find out all the paper work needed for the Package 3 for Fiancee Visa, I must be getting really old...lol Thanks in advance, John and Siyi
  12. I ran into the same thing, you have to call NVC and speak to a human being. The automated part will never update. They will give you the case number. Good Luck, John and SiYi
  13. Hello all, I have tracked our paperwork through the DHL website. It was working fine now it ask for a zip code which I have but it doe not give an accurate shipping dates. Is there a time period that you can no longer track it? Just wondered if anyone else has found this problem. Thanks, John and SiYi
  14. I got it, sorry for the delay... things are a bit slowwwww here using CFL in China. Dylan, I am very happy for both of you, it is a long difficult wait and for now yours is over. Your time line looked like it went very well and now the famous PINK... you both must be very happy. I hope we all have the same result and we can all look back on the whole ordeal and smile. Wish you both a great beginning and a wonderful life together. John and SiYi
  15. Sorry, if this sounds stupid, but is the guide lines to writing a letter of evolution. If so were would i find such a guide line. Do you have to get it notorized? Thanks John
  16. I found the whole giving money interesting and understand why it might not need to be mentioned. I would like to share my thoughts and a bit of my story. I met my Fiancee about 1-1/2 years ago, never in my wildest dreams did I think I would end up in China, yet it was the most refreshing thing I have ever done in my life. When I first met her she spoke very little english so prior to going to meet her we wrote letters back and forth for over 6 Months. We decided we wanted to try and make a life for each other, but we both agreed that in order to have a great relationship we needed to be able to communicate. I sent her to a Language school full time, she quit her job and I support her while attending school. She has been in school for 8 months now, she is doing great. We talk twice a day on the phone and now she is correcting my words The dedication she has put into learning English is well worth the money and she works very hard to succeed. I am very proud of her and I know it will help us no matter what happens at the interview. I don't really think the supporting her or paying for school really matters it is the simple fact that she has learned English, which is important for us and the transition to America if infact that does occur. Either way thank you all for this great site, most of all for the feeling that we are not alone in this. Thanks, John and SiYi
  17. I am in the same boat with a address change. I like the idea of call dos, and than sending the packet in. However when it comes time for the interviewyou need to do the same? Is there a better way of doing both, giving new address and calling dos? Once again, I was able to find anwsers by the use of the great people on here. I called NVC, they gave me my case number which went to Guz, I emailed Guz last night with the information and they replied the same day, this is what they replied: Dear Mr. John C. , Thank you for your email. We have received notice that the NVC is sending the case file to the Consulate. We have not yet received the case file. At this time, you need do nothing further. Shipments of case files mailed from the NVC can take several weeks to several months to arrive in China and clear Chinese customs. We will contact your beneficiary once we are ready to continue processing the case. We will also update Ms. Chen, Si Yi's mailing address as provided once her case file is received. Sincerely, Immigrant Visa Unit U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou 1 Shamian South Street Guangzhou, Guangdong 510133 PRC Fax: 86-20-38844412 I will now fax them over the same info and I will also wait till I see when the paperwork clears in Guz and do it again. Thanks again to everyone, I truly would be lost without this site and the great people here. I even have a lawyer and he is very little help. What format did you use in the letter? Sorry, I am not sure what you mean with what "Format"

  19. Hello all, Once again, I come to all of you for you help. Our Paper work left NVC on the 22 of Jan. It is stuck in Clearance delay in China. My Fiancee has since moved to a different apartment. I am not sure who to notify for the change. My lawyer is no help and I realize I know more then him, I think he should be on CFL for a refresher course. I figured I could send a fax or call Guanzghou. I am just concerned because I am not sure what or if there is a case # other then the one we got from USCIS. Any and all input would greatly be appreciated. Thanks John and SiYi
  20. John, try not to pile on with folks here against one member. There was NOTHING negative in Toot's post. That was basically saying once the woman gets here and certified, she will do her own thing. That is not negative, that is reality. I believe that is the way it should be. Stand in her way and then you are an obstruction to her. Oscar, Sorry if it seemed like I jumped on the pile. Like anything in life, if we ask anything will get all sorts of feed back. I appreciate all the feed back. I have an open mind but I too am a understand life, taught from life's classroom.
  21. Thank you for sharing your story with me and your feelings. I am very happy for you all that life has given you what you longed for. Her son is only 10, he is very cute and I have spent many days with him. He calls me Uncle...lol His Grandparents have most of the control on his life and how they see his life. To them it is all about raising him so that he can take care of his father. They are a very traditional family and leave very little time for his mother to be with him. The whole thing is strange to me because I am very close with my family and I have four daughters, I could never leave this country and leave them behind. My fiancee see'e life as it is now that she plays a very small part in raising her son and yet is very grateful that his life is so good being with his grandparents. The boys father does very little with him, it is the grandparents who take him on vacation and do many things with him as a family. My fiancee is a very sweet and caring woman, she has thought it all out yet I simply worry for them both. I can only support what ever is decided and I have spoke my feelings on the whole matter. Have a great night and thanks again John and SiYi
  22. My experience is similar to yours. After you get married, you'r wife will do what she wants about her son. If she wants,SHE WILL DECIDE to bring her kid here or not. My wife has taken up with a lesbian who adopts Chinese babies, and my wife thinks that lesbian friend is going to get her son here faster. My wife needs to convince her ex-husband in China to give permission to let the boy go. I dont concern how honest or nice this lady is. No matter what she is telling you, once she gets to America ITS UP TO HER what to do about her Chinese child. Also,IT DOES NOT MATTER that you like this child. If she finds another way to get her kid over here YOUR FEELINGS are in the toilet. B) Toot, try not to be so negative to chinese women or man, you had your experience, others are different. to chinese (as i'm sure to many western here wife is #1) you must commit totally, if you are "cheapskate" then you start badly. all of us no matter from where are judged by our actions. this is a mixing of 2 cultures and families we all have much too learn. please dont generlise about others from your experiences, you shaped where you are now as much as she did/does. remember life is like a movie, you are your character but the story is not yet told, you need to except and live though your negative, its your place now, but better not progect that others, it does you no good. toot face your pain walk into it, except it and you come through it, self presevation is self denial which leads to much disharmony. Breath, meditate, accept. sorry very off topic on topic you are fine, family is family Thanks Again everyone, even the negative..... Her son will have a slim chance of coming here, but that is ok, what ever happens, happens. Her son lives with his father and grandparents, they have much money and the child has everything he could ever ask for. They live in a great house, go on vacations and what I see lives better then many american children. He would of course always be included in our lives and in our home. My only concern was my own feelings on leaving a child behind, yet I see our culture and the way others think it is just what it is. To my fiancee, all she see's is that her son has a great life, and is very well taken care of. Of course we will be back to visit often. Again to all of you thanks for all the input and help John and SiYi
  23. Thanks for your reply, It has always bothered me, yet Like I said I never have found such a sweet and sincere woman in my life. The grandparents have money and worked for the government. When we took her son for the day the grandmother called her three times in a period of four hours.
  24. Hello all, First I would like to say thanks to this site and all the great members, I hope all of our dreams come true and life will always be what we hoped. My question is as follows: I have been seeing a wonderful woman in China, she is like no other and has given me hope that there are real people still in this world. The only thing that bpothers me is her Son. She is divorce and her ex has custody of her son. Her son is being raised by his Grandmother and is very well taken care of. She see's her son for short visits and the grandmother is very protective of the grandson. We have talked in depth about her coming to USA if we are approved of course, and leaving her son behind. She feels left out of his life due to the divorce and says her son will be well taken care of. I guess I feel bad for the son and feel responsible. I have spent time with the boy and it is strange of the lack of bond as i have with my own children. Is this normal in there culture, with the whole picture. She is a wonderful, warm and caring person, yet I could never leave my child behind. Any input would greatly be appreciated.... Thanks John
