  1. Personally I used.. Bao Bei, Wo Ai Ni! Ni Yuan Yi Jia Gei Wo Yi Sheng Yi Shi Ma? Translation: Dearest(precious) I love you. Will you marry me for my whole life. Yes, I know there are a more eloquent ways to say it, but hey, it worked for me!
  2. Ron, You should give studying Mandarin a try. I self taught myself Mandarin through the pin yin system. Although, I wouldn't say that my pronunciation is perfect, I am able to communicate when I am in China. Communication should be a two way street. Expecting your SO to do all the work isn't too fair Show her that you are willing to give it a try too! Josh
  3. HI, Thought I would take a few minutes to introduce myself as well. I was directed to your website by a friend who married a lovely young lady from China. A bit about myself. I am a young American only 21. I don't have any great skills, but I have just obtained my CDL, and am working as a driver transporting auto parts between Canada and the USA. I am fluent in Chinese, at least I think I am, I taught myself for the last 5 years by reading books, computer programs, and audio CDs. I also have a great love of Chinese History, and spend most of my time reading about China, its past and present. I Have been travelling to China since I was 19 and have gone to China over eight times. Each time, I try to go to a different part. The exciting news is that I have followed the entire "Silk Road." I have a wife in China. I was married about 3 months ago. I have filed my paperwork for the CR1, and also have filed my K3 application. I wish I would have found you guys, before I had to self teach myself! Haha. Well thats me in a nutshell. Hope I didn't bore you guys! Josh
  4. she's the one! how long did it take for her to find you a cheap flight... she had them for $1500... I wanted $1300 and NWA, i didn't ask for NWA, just my intial choice... I have about 40000 miles with them... how long before you get a free flight with them, anyone know??, 60000 domestic, yes? 195190[/snapback] For domestic flight is it 25,000. It costs 60,000 miles for international flights. That is assuming there is availability. If not, and you have to use a "rule buster" The costs are double.
  5. I have the opposite experience as Carl. In Souther Cities such as Shenzhen and Guangzhou, Traveller checks actually have a HIGHER exchange rate than cash. I can't explain it, but I was happy to get a few more yuan.
